A five minute drive from historic georgetown, and central between the gorgeous beaches of 'Jolly Hall' to the west and 'Tropic of Cancer' to the east, and just one minute from the Rolle Town settlement with native heritage, and picturesque sandbars during low tide.

Exuma is the boating capital of the Bahamas, renown for its differing hues of aquamarine and blue sea, and it many cays and islets which are pristine and simply refreshing. So come and explore, take a skiff across the bay to Stocking Island, eat, beach and snorkel - then explore historic Georgetown and the other settlements - from Williams town in east (where salt is still mined) to Barretarre in the west for access to the exuma cays - the home of the James Bond movie Thunderball grotto, swimming pigs and famous Staniel Cay; then come home to 'Evelena', refresh, prepare a meal (or not), lay back and enjoy the Exuma breeze - the breeze hardly ever stops blowing in Exuma - some call it Paradise - you call it home when you stay in 'Evelena'. Enjoy!
HOW TO GET THERE
Leaving the airport, drive over the hill to Queens Highway; at the roundabout, turn right (east) heading to George Town. The road has many curves, so take your time, and remember to drive on the left. After about 20 minutes you will reach Georgetown; at the Y junction you must turn right heading over a hill, which leads to a next Y junction, take a right again; continue on Queens Highway, heading east; you will pass February Point, and driving for about five minutes, you will pass 'Master Harbour- Bahama Sound 11' sign on your right, and 500 metres ahead on the right hand side - a white two-storey building - this is 'Evelena', the affordable Getaway in Exuma! The entire distance is about 21.5 km - if lost call me at (242) 424-5974.
MORE about 'EVELENA'
Access across street to sea, to Georgetown (5 minute drive) with shops and restaurants Stocking Island, Rolletown (3 min) for sandbars, Williams town (20 minute drive) for native settlement, Barretarre (40 min) for boarding to tour the cays.
The neighbour hood (in Master Harbour section of Bahama Sound 11) is quiet and residential. Evelena is located on a slight rise, and has a lovely view of the sea, and a cool breeze effect. At times, one may hear the braying of donkeys in the mornings from a nearby home, and the chirping of birds - unwind, recreate, rediscover.
Exuma is accessible from Nassau by air at average price, and from select cities in US and Canada. While in Exuma, we highly recommend a tour of the Exuma cays to see the swimming pigs, swim with friendly nurse sharks, traverse the sand banks, snorkel at Thunderball grotto, and simply enjoy the pristine exuma cays.

Tyrone Neely purchased this townhome in 2011
We purchased this property because my grandmother was born in Exuma, and the location was central between Georgetown (activities) and Little Exuma's gorgeous beaches. Exuma is very relaxing, and living in Nassau becomes tiresome at times, hence we 'get away' to peaceful Exuma and recharge - so will you!
Located on the main road (highway), with modern amenities yet so close to nature, the sea and a natural pond 200 feet to the back of the property.
This was one of the best properties I have stayed at. Even before arriving, Tyrone was easy to get a hold of and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. He met us at the airport upon arrival and told us about places to check out on the island. He even took the time to show us the Tropic of Cancer beach, which is a must if you're in the Exumas. He also set up our tour of the Exuma Cays so we would not have to worry about that upon arrival. The property itself is spacious and lovely. It was a lot bigger than we had imagined. The full kitchen gave us the opportunity to cook our own meals one evening. The home is also across the street from the water which is an added bonus. I had always stayed in hotels before this trip so I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect. However, this property blew me away. It's very clean and well maintained. We were two females and we felt safe in the home and surrounding areas. If you have a chance, I highly recommend staying at this property. You will not regret it!
We really enjoyed our stay at Evelena. Our on-island host greeted us at the car rental so we could easily follow him to the house. Owner was very accessible if we needed anything... air conditioner had a minor issue and was addressed immediately.
We really enjoyed to stay and would always recommend to come back. Tyrone has been a great host and even provided us with a local phone. The apartment is well-equipped with all necessary amenities. The only thing that could have been better are the bed mattresses. The location of the apartments grades for day trips to the beaches to great Exuma. We will come back.

We really enjoyed our stay in Evelena. The apartment is very well equipped, spacious and we found everything we could need. They house was exactly as advertised, clean and well kept. I appreciated the nice decoration. Having a washer, a dryer and air conditioning is an added bonus! The location is very convenient, about 7-8 minutes by car from George Town. The dishes, pots and pans and small appliances were all pristine. The kitchen was spacious and had what we needed. I think that the apartment is perfect for 2 guest.
We had a very relaxing vacation,, quiet and quality time. Tyrone was a very nice host. I agree with the previous review about the bed mattresses which could be better.
