Explore mountain cabin rentals around Midway
Midway is the ideal spot for mountain cabins in Utah. It boasts an array of winter activities, such as snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowmobiling, tubing, and Nordic skiing, as well as hiking, swimming, fly fishing, and horseback riding in summer. There’s also the Homestead Crater, which is a unique body of water for soaking, snorkeling, or scuba diving.
Soak those weary bones at the Homestead Crater
The star of the show in Midway is the Homestead Crater, a geothermal spring hidden away 55-feet underground. Created from snow melts over thousands of years, the spring water bubbles up through the ground picking up minerals as it percolates. It stays deliciously warm at 95 degrees, making it wonderfully cozy during the winter months. It's not far from Midway vacation rentals, and when you arrive you can either splash around, soak up the minerals or don flippers and masks to dive down under the surface of the crystal-clear waters.
Swing your clubs or fish for your supper
The opportunities for adventure are endless when you stay in a Midway vacation rental. During the summer months, you can swing your clubs on the 18-hole championship golf course, wade into the swallow rivers to fly fish for trout, saddle up to go horseback riding in the hills and parks, hike along the forested trails or go local at a chuckwagon dinner. Though some of these aren't available in the winter, other snowy activities like cross-country skiing or adrenaline-inducing rides through the parks on snowmobiles still draw in travelers. Just remember to pack some warm clothes.
A year-round destination
The climate in Midway is pleasing whenever you're here. The spring is wonderfully warm, with bright skies which makes it one of the best times for hiking or horseback riding. The summer can be hot and brings the hordes of travelers, but you can always cool off with a refreshing dip in your private Midway vacation rental swimming pool. During fall, the temperature begins to dip, but the forests around the town burst into color, while winter brings flurries of heavy snow and locals dust off their cross-country skis and prepare for all manner of adventures.
Remember your binoculars
Just down the road from Midway vacation rentals is the Wasatch Mountain State Park, a 22,000-acre landscape that provides a natural wonderland to explore. While hiking through the park, keep your eyes open for some of the 600 species of wildlife that inhabit the area. Herds of elk and deer amble through the forests, solitary mountain lions and bobcats slink along the ridges, red-tailed hawks and golden eagles circle on the thermals overhead looking for prey, while busy beavers dam up the streams below. Just don't forget to bring your binoculars.
