                Celebrate Celestun!

Awesome house. It is a perfect place for those that want to experience Real Mexico. Beautiful home in a private setting with all the amenities. Great location for Birding. The beach is amazing and totally private. Celestun is a wonderful small town with very welcoming people. Loved the house with great views, ocean breezes and a great back deck- Outdoor grill, sea toys and Kayaks make it so easy you never have to leave home! Would highly recommend it to people who want off the beaten path, beauty and solitude. All around great rental experience from Pascal and Robbie Thanks so much!

We found the hosts to be very thoughtful and attentive to our needs to be sure we were comfortable and happy there. We felt very comfortable in our rooms, at the lounge area around the pool, and on the beach. The room was beautiful - clean and lovely - just what you'd imagine for a vacation on the beach. We could see the ocean from our room. It is a comfortable walk to town, which you can do along the road or along the beach. Our hosts gave us suggestions for restaurants in town which we tried and found delicious. Our hosts were also kind enough to drive us to the bus station on our last day. We stayed in Cancun one might, in Merrida three nights but this was the prettiest, most relaxing part of our trip! We would definitely recommend this vacation home.

                Mexican hideaway.

We were at Casa Amanecer for three fabulous weeks. It was very hard to leave & would have liked to stay all Winter. I can only endorse all the comments made by others. Carole the owner was also a wonderful local guide & source of information. While Celestun is a peaceful Mexican fishing village we were always busy though had plenty of time for shelling & reading. The Sat TV & Broadband Internet were much appreciated. A car is useful but not necessary. We traveled to Cancun over nighted there & took the Bus to Merida as there are many more convenient flights there than to Merida where flights generally arrive late in the evening. There is an hourly Oriente bus to Celestun from the Noreste Bus Station in Merida which is short Taxi ride from the Came ADO long distance Bus station. Food prices& restaurant meals in Celustun are very low compared to the US & the great fresh Fish from the fish Market is about $2/lb . We really enjoyed shopping in town & riding back to the house in one of the many Tricycle taxis for a cost of $1 US.This was our first trip to Mexico mainly because of all the horror stories but to visit Celestun is no different from visiting a small town in the US the Mayan people all have a smile & are very welcoming. For the lucky few Celestun & Casa Anamacer is an undiscovered vacation retreat long may it remain that way. .
