Wonderful Getaway in the Yorkshire Dales

                  5 of 5
I loved this place and would gladly rent it again. It was very comfortable for my family of 6. The home features gorgeous views of Coverdale, easy access to several footpaths, sheep, cattle and miniature horses in adjacent pastures and an easy walk to Thwaite Arms pub in Horsehouse. Cam Gill Road is not busy at all, which helps make for a quiet spot. The accommodations are modern and well maintained and I found it pleasant working with both Sykes Cottages (the manager) and the property's owner. We met some of the neighbors in Braidley -- all were so friendly and helpful. Be sure to stock up on groceries -- we did it in Skipton -- because the property is far from any large supermarkets. There is an excellent village store in Kettlewell, but it's small and won't have everything a family might need or want. The owner includes a starter kit and some logs to start a fire in the open fireplace or the wood burner. If you plan to make more than two fires during your stay make sure you pick up kindling and wood.
