        Outstanding rental

        5 of 5
My wife and I rented the cottage for a week, Both the apartment and the grounds are outstanding. This rental is an remarkable value. The cottage is spacious, well appointed and has a distinct wood beamed, old world tropical beach character. The location is even more beautiful than the photos reveal. The view from the cottage porch of the harbor, town of Basseterre and Nevis in the distance is spectacular both day and night. While you will be sharing the pool and gardens with guests during the day, the location was never overly crowded or noisy. After 5 pm, the place is all yours. The owners and staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming.he property has a bar and small restaurant open daily from breakfast and lunch. Dinner is served Friday and Saturday evenings. There are also three additional restaurants open nightly for dinner within a two minute walk of the cottage. The hosts provide a separate secure gated entry for use by renters 24-7. Renters should keep in mind that the closest swimming beach is a 10-15 drive away. Taxis (which are plentiful) or rental cars are necessary to visit the beach and other tourist destinations. The center of the town of Basseterre is approximately a 10 minute leisurely stroll along the harbor, where you will pass fishermen and open air produce sellers. Except for the cruise ship oriented tourist shops at Port Zante, the town is a traditional and authentic Carribbean village - a rarity for a tourist destination. Two small, but full service grocery stores are situated near the ferry and cruise ship docks. A ferry trip to the sister island of Nevis is a must. The island is a bit quieter and less populated than St. Kitts, with beautiful architecture and gorgeous Pinney Beach. All in all, we rate the Palms Court Gardens cottage as an extraordinary rental at a truly reasonable price. We highly recommend it
