We just got back from a week at Villa Gaudi and absolutely loved it. The villa has the most incredible views on all sides and I think some of the largest property in the neighborhood -- which was great for hanging by the pool, exercising under the trees or just enjoying a glass of wine on the terrace.
We were four couples so each had a room and our own bathroom in the house (although one of the rooms did have a funny odor). The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need -- including a Nespresso maker. We were a little concerned when we arrived because the pool had turned green due to a rainfall, but our pool/garden man Mikaela assured us he would have it blue in a day and he came multiple times during the next two days and he did it. Having a pool after a day of sightseeing was really a treat! He was also very helpful with getting us into town to the supermarket.
Prior to arriving Alfred was most helpful with tour guide recommendations and he hired us a chef for the evening that cooked one of the most outstanding meals we've ever had! When we realized that the wireless speakers were missing from the house, Alfred sent over a brand new set right away the next morning. The only thing that you may want to make sure of is that they have the house opened prior to your arrival. When we got there the air was not on and the windows were all drawn, so it was dark, hot and musty. However, after an hour the house was bright, cool, aired out and started to feel like home.
We rented a car so we could go to the supermarket and into town for anything we needed, but we used the taxi service to go to Barcelona each day/night. Taxis ranged from 20-35 euros each way depending on how far you were going. Ask Alfred for the number and make sure to leave time for them to come up the hill...many times they didn't speak english but we were able to communicate just fine. Beware that on Sundays things close down -- it's a great day to head to the beach! I f you are traveling with friends or family and are looking for a lovely place to call home I would recommend Villa Gaudi.
