Summers see average high temperatures in the mid-80s though some days can reach the 90s. Fall and spring have nice weather much of the time with average highs in the 60s and 70s. Spring and fall are nice times to visit Gettysburg as they are not too hot, but summer is also a good time if you plan some indoor activities as well as outdoor tours.
Located in the southern portion of Pennsylvania, Gettysburg is easily accessed by car. Many travelers to the area elect to come by car, whether their own or a rental car. The closest airport to Gettysburg is the Harrisburg International Airport at 45 minutes away with Baltimore-Washington International Airport a close second at only 55 miles away. Ground transportation can be secured via Rabbit from Harrisburg or rental car from either airport. However you get to Gettysburg, you will have fun.
