            Beautiful, secluded, serene

My wife and I spent a couple days here (July 2014) that were just magical. Very remote and peaceful. The house is really well-designed and lets in lots of natural light -- we didn't need to turn on any lights until after 9:30PM or so. Lots of rocky beaches for exploring. One evening, a fog rolled in and it's like we were in another world. Just a wonderful spot if you want to get away from it all.

Luxury cottage combined with charming rural countryside

Our stay at the Gegogan Beach House was excellent. The house is beautiful both inside and outside, with modern amenities, a great deck with BBQ, outdoor shower and the beach literally at our doorstep. The area is very quiet and secluded and there is a good sandy beach. The waters are cold being the Ocean, but the kids just hopped in anyway! The nearby Sherbrooke village with its historical town and villagers contributed to our experience of Nova Scotia. I would recommend this for anyone seeking to stay in five-star accommodations combined with rustic woodlands and the ocean as a backdrop!

            A truly beautiful, remote, ESCAPE:)

The house and property did not disappoint...it lived up to all of our expectations! It is incredibly clean, free of clutter, light filled, well stocked, and so so peaceful. It really feels like an escape from the everyday...and you really cant beat the large wrap around deck with ocean view. The bedroom has a small deck off of it. Sleeping with the sliding door open with sound of the ocean rolling in and waking in the morning with the sun was the absolute best. We also made good use of the kitchen, which is well stocked with oils/vinegars/spices, as I think we were there ahead of the tourist season and many restaurants were not open yet. There is a bookcase filled with maps, brochures, and other info about the surrounding areas which proved to be very helpful. (Insider tip...when looking for gas, we found Sherbrooke to be closest and very charming) We really relished the fact that there was no Wifi at the house and used it as a much needed opportunity to unplug, but found when we did need access to the internet that almost all cafes offered a free connection. I highly recommend taking a walk to the beach..it is a short trail from the house that is covered with mosses, ferns, and the occasional deer and rabbit. Close by were the Liscomb River (and lodge which has a lovely patio to have lunch on) and Shipwreck Fury site which we really enjoyed. You can find information about these trails and more in a handy binder located in the book/map collection. I really can't say enough about this place and I can't wait to go back. I have never felt so refreshed after a vacation!
