                  Recent Flåm Reviews

The sheep are lucky to live here.

                  5 of 5
The place is as wonderful as other reviewers have said it is. The cottage we stayed in was comfortable and homey, and we slept deeply with the sound of waterfalls all around. The scenery on all sides was spectacular, the people friendly and helpful, the sheep inquisitive but reserved. The view of the fjord from the bathroom window--even at 11:00 at night--will take your breath away. Asbjorn is responsive and helpful. I'm so glad we were able to stay at this place.

                  Fabulous Flam!

                  5 of 5
My husband, 2 children (aged 13 and 10) and I spent a week in one of these lovely cottages in Flam. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed and it has the most magnificent views down the fjord. So, even though we didn't have the best week of weather, we loved sitting in the living area and just reading and relaxing and enjoying the views. The cottage is within walking distance to the town where there are some touristy shops and some restaurants as well as a small general store and "viking" pub. You can also walk to the train station and we would highly recommend hiring bikes in the town and catching the Flam railway up to the last stop (the train has a special compartment for bikes) and riding down part of the Rallarvegen road back to Flam. You do need to be reasonably confident on a bike but it was one of the highlights of our time in Flam. Another "must" is to catch a ferry from Flam down the nearby UNESCO World Heritage listed Naeyerfjord and get the bus back to Flam. Anders was a wonderful host and in fact he went "above and beyond" when he mailed my phone back to me after I accidentally left it behind in the cottage. He also showed us how to use the little outboard boat that came with the property and my husband and son had fun puttering about and attempting to fish. He and Sue have also prepared their own very comprehensive list of things to do in and near Flam. I would highly recommend a trip to Norway and staying in these cottages.
