Ideal location for relaxation or as a home base for day trips

      5 of 5
The cottage was the perfect getaway for my family of five. It was immaculate and had everything you needed for a week away. The setting is very private and quiet. It is a little busier on the weekend, but it felt like we had the pond to ourselves during the week. Even though there were beds to sleep in, my two sons chose to sleep elsewhere. One slept on the porch on an inflatable mattress and the other wanted to sleep outside in his tent. My daughter had a room to herself. The window seat and hammock were favorite spots to read or relax. There were several places to sit outside whether we enjoyed the sun or preferred to sit in the shade. Since we live only 45 minutes away we didn't need to sightsee. Although it is in a perfect location to go on day trips to Plymouth, Boston and/or Cape Cod. We brought our own kayaks and paddleboards, which we used from dawn to dusk every day. My children had friends visit for a day and they too were impressed with this ideal location. They spent the entire day on the pond...except to come in to eat. Another day we had older family come to sit by the pond. They loved the beautiful scenery and solitude. It was the perfect spot for young and old.(From 15 years to 80 years). Three days into our stay I checked to see if the cottage was available the following week, unfortunately it wasn't. My three teenagers can't wait to return next year. (Hard to believe they were all happy and having fun with each other. They even gave me credit for finding this place!) My only regret is that I didn't find the cottage years ago.

Luxury home with the sound of the ocean!!! Wonderful.

      5 of 5
My husband & I rented this home for the two weeks that included July 4th. We invited friends & family to join us; a total of four couples for 4-5 day stays. It was SO wonderful to enjoy this gracious home with them at the oceans edge. The sound of the oceans 24-7, a view of Straightsmouth Light, the majic of Rockport made for a memorable vacation with a beneficial "sea cure" had by all. We will always return to Rockport to get our fix of sea majic.
