In fact, average low temperatures during the winter months may be in the single digits many weeks of the year, and considerable snowfall may fall during the winter because of the nor'easters that commonly blow through the area. While winters can be cold, spring, summer and fall months can be divine. The average high temperature in the summer is in the 80s, and the temperature exceeds 90 degrees on some days. Rainfall is common during the warmer months of the year because of coastal effects.
Traveling into Saco is easy to do because of its close proximity to Portland, Maine. You may take a bus or fly into Portland, and you can rent a car to travel the remaining distance to Saco. Some will also drive their own vehicle to Portland. From Portland, take Interstate 95 or Highway 1 southwest approximately 30 to 45 minutes until you arrive in Saco. This is a scenic, easy drive that will help you to get in the mood for relaxation on your vacation.
