Fantastic villa for a relaxing vacation

                5 of 5
Had a wonderful time at the villa! The gardens and lawn are beautiful and perfectly maintained. The pool was amazing- plenty of privacy, warm all day and night, a good depth and had a nice bench built in to sit on. The kitchen had everything we needed, though using the oven was a bit more of a challenge than we are used to. Every room is very spacious and comfortable. Althea was a big help and picked fresh oranges, grapefruits, passion fruit and coconuts for our arrival. We made delicious fresh squeezed juice with the oranges. It was nice to see a familiar face when Althea was working at La Sagesse as well. We greatly enjoyed reading in the gazebos at night and watching all of the lizards walk around on the ceiling and catch bugs. The belle isle development is like a peninsula and has breathtaking views on either side of the road as you approach the villa. We would have loved to have time to explore it more. As others have said, John was incredibly helpful every step of the way and did not hesitate to provide us with all of the information we needed for our stay or to familiarize ourselves with the island. I have just a few negative comments about our experience- John's designated taxi driver, Bonney, was probably the most unpleasant person we met on the island. It was convenient to arrange for Bonney to pick us up at our hotel, but he got lost and was an hour late. When he finally arrived he was rude and inhospitable, both to us and to our previous hosts. Navigating Grenada's roads on our own was frightening at best but Bonney's driving was even more hazardous. We had also enlisted John's help in arranging our rental car, which resulted in some miscommunication. We used Sanvic's and they were quick to find a solution to the problem and bring our car out to us. Personally the 3 or so mornings per week that Althea or the pool cleaning crew take care of the property seemed a bit excessive. Time flies quickly on vacation so the hours we spent waiting for them to leave in order to enjoy the pool in peace was precious time wasted. They were all friendly and kept the pool and garden spotless but it would have been nice to have fewer intrusions on our privacy during the stay. Considering that I consistently saw Grenada's beaches ranked among the best in the Caribbean I was very underwhelmed by the island itself, but we loved our experience at the villa and recommend it highly.

                An excellent return stay!

We recently spent another really enjoyable 5 nights in the Studio on Westerhall Point. All was just as good as in February 2014 (see our reviews from then), and it's interesting to see how the lovely garden has developed over the intervening 2 years. We thoroughly recommend this place!

                Dream vacation in Paradise!

My party and I had an amazing time at St. Martin’s Villa! We went to Grenada for vacation and a wedding and stayed at the property for 12 days. The house is located in a quiet and secure neighborhood with an amazing view of the ocean. The view of the ocean is particularly enjoyable from the swimming pool- rum glass close to hand. The house is well kept; it has spacious rooms and the number of bathrooms is a plus! I stayed there with 7 adults and a 10 month-old baby and everybody fit comfortably. We also had people over for very large dinners that were a huge success. In fact, we had all the amenities, utensils and appliances needed not only to entertain us but also our guests. The property is within walking distance from several beaches that are very quiet and feel like private because you rarely find other people swimming there. My group and I also enjoyed snorkeling in the area since there are lots of colorful fish and coral. In terms of location, St. Martin’s Villa is a 20 minute drive from the airport or from the city center St George’s. It is also not far from the amazing underwater sculpture park (I recommend as a must see if in Grenada). We rented a car and explored other locations as well, such as the Grand Etang National Park, surrounding bays and waterfalls. All incredible sights! Take bananas for the monkeys, we forgot!! Overall, I found that the house and its location provided us with the complete experience of the “dream beach getaway” – perfect for the wedding - while at the same time making you feel at home, something hotels rarely offer. The local property manager answers all your questions. I really enjoyed my time there! I sure hope to come back!
