Siesta Key’s weather is generally sunny and warm during all times of the year. Warm Gulf breezes keep the island cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Temperatures typically are in the balmy 70s, but the humidity can make it feel warmer. There is always the possibility of a cold snap in the winter or higher heat in the summer; travelers should prepare for this possibility. When the weather is stormy, the winds can pick up which makes the temperatures feel colder.

How to Get There

The best way to get to Sarasota and Siesta Key, Florida is by private or rental car. Commercial airlines serve many airports in Florida, including nearby Tampa International Airport. A smaller airport, Sarasota/Bradenton Airport provides travel services as well, and it is quite close to the Siesta Keys destination. Train and bus service are available throughout the state of Florida.
