A Marco Island Beach Condo Is the Perfect Home Away From Home

When you want to escape from the cares of daily life to enjoy a relaxing beach vacation, take a closer look at what Marco Island has to offer. This gorgeous barrier island is home to only 16,000 residents, and it has an off-the-beaten path location that is just what you need to recharge on your vacation. From your Marco Island beach condo, you can take in unbelievable views of white sand beaches and turquoise waters, and you will be in the perfect location for enjoying all that the area has to offer.

Outdoor Recreation

If you are like many people, you may plan to spend the majority of your time splashing around in the waves and soaking up some rays on the beach while you are staying in your Marco Island vacation condo. Many homes have beach access, and you can also tour other natural areas when you need to mix things up a bit. For example, just south of Marco Island, you will find the preserved area known as Ten Thousand Island, and Collier-Seminole State Park is located to the east. Swimming, hiking and other activities are popular at the state park.

Golfing

There are several popular golf courses located in close proximity to your Gulf Coast condo rental, including The Island Country Club located on the island. On the mainland, you can also enjoy golfing at Hammock Bay Golf and Country Club, Rookery at Marco Island, Silver Lakes RV Resort and Golf Club and others.

Dining

While Marco Island has a small town feel, you will not feel limited by the dining options when you stay in your vacation condo. Some will choose to cook some meals in the full kitchen in their condo, but you may also want to pamper yourself with meals out while on vacation. From CJs on the Bay and Sale e Pepe to Marco Polo Restaurant, Snook Inn, Marco Prime Steak & Seafood Restaurant and others, you will have plenty of delicious choices with a wide range of atmospheres to enjoy while you are on vacation.

Weather

Before you can pack your bags and enjoy all that Marco Island has to offer, you will need to know what to bring. Unlike other areas in Florida, Marco Island has a tropical climate with wet and dry features, and this means that there is a time of year when the majority of the rainfall is received. The wet season for Marco Island coincides with the peak of hurricane season, and these wet months are from June through October each year. The rest of the months may also receive scant amounts of rainfall. Because Marco Island is located in southern Florida, you can expect fairly warm temperatures even in the winter months, and summers can be hot with highs in the 90s and even 100s at times.

How to Get There

There are several options available for traveling to Marco Island. There is a small airport located on the mainland near the island, and this is the Marco Island Executive Airport. Flights to and from this airport are limited, so another option is to travel via air into nearby Miami or Naples. From Miami, you can travel west along Highway 41 through the scenic Everglades to reach Marco Island. You can also fly into the Fort Myers area and travel south along Highway 41 to arrive at Marco Island. The nearest Interstate to Marco Island is Interstate 75, so this may be a feasible route to take when traveling by car from farther away.
