This listing is an accurate description of the property. But it doesn’t highlight just how well presented and maintained it is and just how good the location is. We have rented scores of holiday properties in Europe and North America and Orama 2 is amongst the best and great value for the money.
The property was clean and in tip top condition inside and out. Everything works as it should and well chosen for the task.
The Symeous are excellent hosts, they dropped by on day 1 to welcome us and field questions we had. After that, they were readily available but left us to get on with our holiday. We are particularly grateful to them for quickly setting up an extra day’s stay for when our circumstances suddenly changed. Barbara and Demetrius are truly a class act!
The house lends itself to enjoying the Cypriot climate. Multiple doors, windows and shutters open and close effortlessly to maximize shade and breezes in every room. Substantial stone walls insulate and regulate the inside temperatures and the hilltop location ensures a near constant cooling breeze. Not much need for the air-conditioning present in each room.
The swimming pool and surrounds are 1st class too. We changed preconceived plans to spend more time there and in the shade under the veranda. Not usually an early riser, I got up each morning and went out onto the upstairs terrace to watch the sunrise from behind the close-by hill line to the east of the property. Sublime – and a freshly brewed mug of coffee and a glass of just-squeezed juice from the fruit of the Orama orange trees added to the quality of the experience. Easy to linger up there for a couple of hours in the cool air.
The location is a great place to enjoy the best of what Cyprus has for its visitors. The Pangratios Taverna in Miliou is super welcoming and serves great local fare. Miliou is adjacent to the road from Paphos to Polis which is replete with nearby antiquities and interesting localities. It’s an easy drive to the beaches around Polis too. For foodies, it’s worth making a trip to ‘O Kipos Tis Edem’ - The Garden of Eden in Paphos. On the Polis Road on the RHS out of the city and just before the very visible Carrefour supermarket on the LHS. See www dot edemgarden dot com. (Right click in the Chrome browser to get an english translation) and memorize the distinctive logo to help recognize it. Its produce is high quality and on a par with Whole Foods in the USA but keener prices!
Can’t wait to go back!
