I can't even describe how amazing this place is. If you want people and traffic and high prices, head over to Manuel Antonio and Quepas... If you want peace... Blessed, wonderful, healing peace, this is the place. No honking cars, no traffic, no city noise, bathing suits/clothes optional. Just fragrant jungle flowers, the sounds of the rainforest, swimming in the pouring rain, reading in the hammock, sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean, listing in to the waves crash as you drink a coconut daiquiri. Sleeping under the ceiling fans, sipping wine in the hot tub, and jumping in the pool every time you get even a little bit hot. Shopping at a local market to get the best fresh caught fish, produce, delicious local pastries, and ice cream!!! This home has a beautiful kitchen, and we didn't feel bad having to get the basics for a few bucks at the local store. We knew everything was fresh.
I am disabled, and not able to walk far. (No wheelchair) I brought my service dog, and he also had a blast!
Watch out for reading while in the pool: You can and will still get sunburned, even 3 feet down! The pool was immaculately clean, and yet there was no chlorine smell. The pool man was the only visitor we had besides the property manager and hundreds of species of vocal birds.
We didn't eat out much, it just wasn't necessary, and we were too busy resting to get dressed to go out. Besides, we bought our own gourmet food to munch on and cook up, so it just wasn't worth it to leave.
We were supposed to stay at this house for 5 days, and switch to a luxury condo in Quepos for the next 5 days. After visiting the other place, in advance, we decided switching would be a terrible mistake! Even though it had an indoor pool, and a 180 degree view of the area there, we just couldn't see dealing with the parking, hundreds of cars, big city US prices, and the mentality of a city. We've got that at home.
So we extended our stay here to 10 days, and the longer we stayed, the more we loved it. In the end, we were talking about what it would take to buy it, and retire here. Mo is the property manager. He is a responsive, courteous, and caring person who took the time to sit with us and make sure we were comfy. He took care of everything we could possibly need, and gave us sage advice on which places to see. He's also got friends who can hook you up with local tours, etc.
We drove to Corcovado State Park easily in 90min, and there were lots of great beaches too.
