Regardless of whether you are planning a fun-filled winter getaway or a relaxing summer vacation, Snowmass Village is the picture-perfect setting for your retreat. This is a charming mountain community that is located close to major ski resorts as well as summer outdoor recreational opportunities, and you will love spending time enjoying all that the area has to offer. A Snowmass Village vacation home is the ideal home away from home for your getaway, providing you with comfortable amenities that inspire relaxation. In fact, some of the amenities that you may enjoy in your vacation home include private bathrooms, large bedrooms, spacious living areas, full kitchens and more.

Outdoor Recreation

When you plan a trip to Northwest Colorado, one of your biggest challenges will be deciding how to spend your days, and this is because there are so many options available to consider. Snowmass Village is appropriately named because of the amount of snow the area receives during the winter months, and this makes it a skier's paradise. Nearby Aspen and Breckenridge add to your skiing and snowboarding opportunities. During the warmer months of the year, everything from white water rafting and horseback riding to hot air ballooning and more are popular for you to consider. Wildlife viewing is popular throughout the year.

Shopping

Whether you are shopping for new ski gear for the slopes or gifts for the folks back home, you will have plenty of options available to consider. There are numerous smaller and independently owned shops to explore in Snowmass Village, and there are also smaller retail spots in towns like Winter Park, Breckenridge and Aspen. Some of these are mom-and-pop stores with individual flair, and there are also chain shops that add to your retail variety while you are on vacation.

Culture

You may not think much about enjoying local culture when you are on a mountain getaway to Snowmass Village, but you will be amiss not to enjoy some of the culture in the area while on vacation. For example, there is a weekly rodeo that is held throughout many months of the year that is the ideal way to end your day in Snowmass Village. In the summer, there is a free concert series that brings you free performances from local and regional performers. You can also tour the famous Anderson Ranch Arts Center to learn more about local arts and crafts.

Weather

When you travel to a new area, you often need to learn more about the climate so that you know how to pack your suitcase. Depending on the time of the year when you plan to visit Snowmass Village, you may need to pack multiple layers of clothing to stay warm. This is an area with a high elevation, and summers can be short and mild while winters can be long, intensely cold and very snowy. Humidity levels are low so that the air feels crisp and comfortable, but average highs in the summer may be as low as the 60s or 70s on some days. Most winter days do not see temperatures that reach above the freezing mark.

How to Get There

    Amazing real Log Cabin

    5 of 5
This was a great cabin, with everything we needed. I liked the privacy of the open woods behind the cabin as well. Also it had breathtaking views out the front of the cabin. Everything we needed was provided as well for cooking, camp fires, even marshmallow sticks for S'mores.
