The Venice and Los Angeles metropolitan area are well-known for having a sunny, warm climate. In fact, most years only have about 35 days with measurable precipitation. The area has a subtropical Mediterranean climate that is characterized by limited rainfall, warm temperatures and ample sunshine. Average high temperatures range from the 60s in the winter to the 80s in the summer. However, there are many days in the warmer months when the temperature reaches into the 90s and 100s. The average low is in the 40s in the winter months and in the 60s during the summer months. While freezing temperatures are rare, they can and do occur from time to time.
Perhaps the fastest way to travel to Venice is to fly into the Los Angeles International Airport. The airport is located only a few miles south of Venice, so you can easily take a rental car from the airport north to Venice along Highway 1. If you are traveling in your own vehicle to Venice or if you are taking a bus or taxi, you likely will travel along Interstate 405 into the Los Angeles area. Then, you will exit on Highway 90 and take this road westward until you reach Venice.
