Peaceful and Cozy Honeymoon! Just What We Needed!

                        5 of 5
The Amori House was exactly what we were looking for! Secluded, quaint and stocked with the items we needed to enjoy the beaches of the Bahamas. We wanted our own little slice of heaven without the chaos of a big hotel and that's exactly what we got. The house is situated on a public beach, but we never felt like we had to compete for space because most beach-goers respected that the area in front of the house was ours to claim. Plus it was nice to visit with the locals and tourists, and the beach never had more than 15 people on it at a time. As mentioned, the house rental came with everything you would need to enjoy the beach (kayak, floating chairs with cup holders, snorkel gear, coolers, and more). It also had an outdoor hose to clean the sand off after hanging on the beach all day, which is great, as no one like walking on sand after a nice shower. As for the inside for the house…it was very well kept and we really didn’t need to buy any items for cleaning or cooking. All the fans worked and the air conditioning in two different rooms was clutch. Now don’t judge, but having a working TV with dish signal, as well as Wi-Fi was important for me (although it did go in out a bit with bad weather), as it was Fantasy Football playoffs and even though I was on my honeymoon I had to at least set my lineup and watch a game, or two, or three, or four. In terms of activities, we spent about half our days hanging at the beach in front of the house and cooking our own meals, including a Thanksgiving dinner. The rest of the time we spent exploring the island. Our favorite beaches were Ten Bay, which is where the house is located, and Lovers Beach, which is about an hour drive north from the house and located on the Atlantic side, meaning big waves! The Friday night fish fry was fun, but make sure you go after 9:30pm or you’ll be ready to leave right when things are just getting going. And when they say fish fry, they mean a whole fish is fried, not the more traditional fish and chips us Americans are used to, although it was still good. They also have chicken cooked on the BBQ, which was very tasty. If you’re looking for a nice sit-down dinner, you have to hit up 1648 Bar & Grill. We went nuts and ordered five apps and two entrees. Let’s just say we had leftovers, but man was it good! The best for last was our boating trip with Captain Bubba and his wife Robin at Fishbone Tours. They were nothing short of amazing! We dove for conch and cleaned/cooked them, along wit

                        Great Location on Ten Bay

                        4 of 5
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I stayed for 12 days and had a wonderful time. The home is situated in one of the nicest locations on the island. You are definitely not isolated here as there are neighbors and other visitors who come to the beach. It gives you the feeling of being "home" and not just another number at a resort. You will never feel crowded. It's central location on the island makes it easy to explore from one end to another and your just a short distance to fulfill all your shopping needs. The kayaks are a great amenity as is the quality snorkeling equipment. You can fish from your backyard or wade the bay for bonefish. If you plan to fish, you need to bring your own gear. We enjoyed the gas Weber BBQ for outside cooking. It makes those lobster tails taste especially good! The recent upgrades to the house are very nice and continuing improvements will only make it better. To me this house is ideal for a couple and maybe no more than a couple younger children. My opinion is that it would be a little cramped for two couples. If your one who can't unplug and enjoy what mother nature provides, there is wi-fi, phones and a nice TV for movies. There are also books and board games for those days that you just want to hang around and chill. The caretaker, Arthur Nixon meet us at the airport and also supplied a rental car. He is available by phone or messaging should you need anything. Our correspondence with Bret, the owner was very easy and prompt. He takes the time to insure all of your questions or concerns are answered.

                        Loved it

                        5 of 5
Where to begin..... We stayed for nine days at this adorable house. My husband and I went for our honeymoon. We enjoyed every minute of it from waking up to a beautiful sunset every morning, to cooking breakfast with a beautiful view, to my husband picking fresh fruit out of the yard, to going to relax out by the water, ethier finding interesting little treasures to kayaks. There is so much to do. The local beach right next door is beautiful ( ten bay Beach). We mostly cooked at the house but our favorite restaurant was mait and Jenny's a local hangout and also tippys for upscale restaurant. We would suggest shipping your meat to eluthera when going though. (Pack in cooler when checking on luggage) But all in all there are plenty of activities to enjoy and definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity. But the best time to go would be alittle later in the year around March through September.
