Lots to do INDOORS when it's freezing outside

  • 5 of 5

We spent Christmas in this huge fun packed home. There was 27 of us and all had a bedroom to stay in. There was plenty of activities to do inside; pool table, poker table, chess table, air hockey, foosball and table tennis along with darts too!!!

We loved the kitchen - plenty of room to prepare meals for the family and all the equipment needed to do so. The great room has a huge fireplace that we kept going the whole time there.

The most pleasant surprise was snow on Christmas Eve so we were able to enjoy a white Christmas just like when we were kids!! We are already discussing having Christmas there next year!!

Fred and Robin are wonderful Innkeepers! They were a pleasure to work with!! :)

PERFECT HOUSE! GREAT INNKEEPERS AND OWNERS!

  • 5 of 5

This was my family's first reunion and first family getaway. I am so glad I found this house. This house is very spacious and had so many amenities. Although it was too cold for my family to use the outdoor amenities such as volleyball net, two camp fires, huge patio, swinging bench, etc., we had an amazing time indoors in this house. It was also great that there were two BBQ grills because it made cooking for 20 people much quicker. There were so many things to do in this house that staying here two nights was not enough time. There was also the perfect amount of bedrooms (and even extra!) for all of us. There were 17 adults all over the age of 25 and 3 kids between the ages of 3 and 12. We were all able to sleep in our own beds comfortably. The bedroom on the first floor was great for my grandma and mom who cannot go up the stairs. There was plenty of room to sit and hang out. The location of this house is perfect as well. There's a Walmart and Shoprite an easy 20 minutes drive away. There's a closer supermarket but we're used to going to Walmart and Shoprite so we stuck to those. My family attended the Lantern Festival one of the days we stayed here and it was an easy half hour drive to Raceway. Communication with Mr. Norris was easy and a pleasure. The innkeepers were also easy to communicate with and a pleasure to meet. I would like to personally thank the innkeepers for their kindheartedness and for welcoming my family into the home and showing us around the house. When I say this house is perfect, I mean it. Everything dealing with this house was a breeze and no problems whatsoever. Thank you for having my family and I will definitely be keeping this house in mind for future getaways! I highly recommend this house!!

Fantastic Place!!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 8 celebrating 22 years since we studied together in James Madison University's semester in Paris program (1995!). Adding in families we had 28 people in total from 8/11/17-8/14/17. There are not many places around that can comfortably hold a group that size so what better way to go than a former youth hostel?!! Even with that many people it often felt like the house was empty.

Everything about the rental process was exceptional - from the owners quickly responding to any questions we had while we were deciding about the rental, to the caretakers calling us ahead of time to discuss the logistics of checking in and then meeting us at the house for a thorough walk through on the day we arrived before leaving us on our own for the rest of our stay.

The property itself was so charming and located right on a stream in a very secluded area. The room layout was great and even though they almost all overlook the common area, it was surprisingly quiet once you turned on the fans in the room (you couldn't even hear people down in the common area or out at the fire pit). Oh and the fire pit was the best! We were out there every day and night as it was such a great area to hang out. The first floor with all the games - pool, ping pong, board games, puzzles, and a big screen projector for movies - was great as well.

A few tips - Dutch's was a decent grocery store about 15-20 minutes away. Cell phone reception is definitely spotty in the entire area but that is part of the reason for going here - to get away from it all. There is also a cool go-cart/miniature golf place 15 minutes away called Fun Station. The kitchen is also a fantastic layout for cooking for big groups (we ate every meal at the house). Definitely stay here!

Great property for large gatherings

  • 4 of 5

This property was fantastic! Very well kept and obviously loved. We celebrated Thanksgiving, Birthday and Wedding and were missing nothing. The amenities were much more than we expected. We had a few unforeseen bumps and Fred the property manager was on top of everything. We would absolutely consider this house again for our family gatherings.

Fantastic Rental!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This property is a great value for the money. The location was easy to find and the layout and amenities offered a warm and cozy atmosphere with lots to do and loads of space. The most appealing feature for my family was the oversized family room, dining area, and kitchen. We were truly able to be together! It was the only property, for our desired location, that was wheelchair accessible. The house is nearby to many attractions, however; because the space offered so much, we hardly left to go anywhere else. The customer service was excellent. I have already recommended it friends and family.
