I am a single female teacher and I enjoy Swimming, Scuba Diving and Tennis. I try to give my guests a taste of the Native life so I introduce them to some of my good friends who will cook some Bahamian dishes for them. I also try to give them as much information about my Island and our culture.
Rhonda Grant purchased this studio in 2012
My property is in a very good neighbourhood and safe and quiet. My neighbours are very friendly.
My house was bought by my mother and I and she is now deceased and I just love living here because of the neighbours and the location.
We both loved our stay at Rhonda's home. We really were made to feel comfortable and the room itself was spacious and homely, equipped with all you need. Rhonda herself is a lovely host who made bookings for taxis, gave great tips and even demonstrated cooking conch which we got to sample one evening. Overall our stay was fabulous and I would recommend Rhonda's home to anyone.
Rhonda's Studio retreat is a short walk to Saunders Beach, the Arawak Fish Fry and the main street of West Bay, where frequent buses provide transport to downtown Nassau (east) or past Cable Beach (west) for only $1.25/person. The neighbourhood was usually quiet after dark and felt safe during the day (we don't go out much at night). We stayed for 4 days during the 4th week of March.
The studio room, adjoining Rhonda's sturdy little home (built circa 1969), can accommodate 2 people inside, with an outside patio and lounge chairs for stretching out to relax. Screened openings on 3 sides allowed plenty of fresh air to waft through, making the fan and A/C unnecessary. Basic cooking facilities allowed us to prepare breakfasts and light dinners in the studio. Rhonda's Bahamian decor gave the studio a homey, lived-in feeling. It was clean and bug-free during our entire visit.
Rhonda had maps and other printed material waiting upon our arrival and provided helpful information about where to get groceries and Bahamian meals. We were looking for accommodations that would give us a small glimpse into the everyday life of Bahamian families. Rhonda's studio provided exactly that. Thank you, Rhonda!
Clean, comfortable bed, near sight seeing. Easy to access public transportation. Neighborhood feel.
I would recommend this great little place to anyone looking to get more of the local feel of Nassau
We were so happy to stay at Rhonda's house, I don't even know where to start describing. Rhonda welcomed us in her home in the best way possible. She helped us with everything and gave us a taste of her Bahamian cuisine, which was amazing! She introduced us to her friends who were just as welcoming as she was. We had a great time thanks to Rhonda and we're looking forward to come back!
Nice accomadation in a nice area. Great spot to explore the bahamas for the first time. Appartment is actually a room comprising of a bed, closet and small kitchen area. All enough to cook and sleep. Owner Rhonda stays just next door and is a very nice and helpful person. Thanks again for helping us out so much.
Staying in a regular living area of the bahamian people you get to nassau downtown or grocery stores cheap and easy bei bus. so authentic ride.
from nassau harbour you are set up well to visit the other islands.
Beaches are just a 5 minutes walking distance, but you should definetly see the other beaches too. there is so much to explore on the bahamas.
Place as such was clean, but of course we had some ant friends around. If you can put up to this, you will enjoy a great stay at a great authentic accomadation.
Having seen so many great this in the bahamas, your place Rhonda will be part of our lovely memories.
