The apartment is 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, fully equipped (fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer….) with a huge terrace all around the apartment (U-shape) This stylish apartment right in the middle of city, just of the Oxford street and close to the Holborn station (2 minutes walk), makes it also glamorous accommodation for families or/and business; whereas the well known and loved tourist sights like Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden, British Museum, Big Ben, National Gallery and many other are within a easy short walk for the visiting tourist! For the enthusiastic shopper Oxford street and all the glamorous or budget shops! You simply cannot find larger 3 bedroom apartment more centrally for such a price. This is most convenient if you want to avoid public transport and want to explore the city on foot. The apartment is on the 5th floor with lift of the beautiful refurbished building of Covent Garden. Building has got very high security which would be very difficult to find in London. Convenient for older visitors as the apartment is close enough to get home when tired or in need of a nap; everything within a short walking distance! The size of the apartment is 105 m2, it is a 5th floor with the lift. Apartment could accommodate up to 7 people.
We stayed for a week in June of 2016. We are a family of 4 with two girls ages 13 and 11.
On the positive side: 1) it is centrally located in London 2) security of the unit is good
On the negative side: 1) The owner met us 30 minutes late for our check in. 2) The unit was not ready. 3) The floor had not been vacuumed because the vacuum cleaner was broken. 4) The bathroom had not been cleaned. 5) The stand up shower in the only bathroom did not have working hot water for our entire stay 6) The many pictures of the deck misrepresent the unit. There is a safety railing all around the deck. The deck does not look like the post.
Generally the apartment is not well taken care, worn down and cheaply decorated. The is our third rental through HomeAway. Our two other experiences have been great, this apartment was a total disappointment.
Located at the northern extreme of Covent Gardens, the apartment is located steps from Holborn station (not Convent Garden). The endless shopping of Oxford Street begins only a few short blocks away. The quaint Convent market is further away.
Martin met us early Saturday morning and walked us through the many features of the apartment that are outlined in other reviews. He was also very through in his e-mail and phone communications while we worked through the logistics of arriving from Canada. We were vary wary of potential scams with overseas rentals but Martin lived up to his reputation of being trustworthy.
As others noted, this is the only apartment in this primarily business oriented building. We didnt hear any noises from within... but be ready for some sirens related to the nearby hospital.
We chose this apartment over 2 hotel rooms for our family of 4 ('kids' are mid teens and early 20's). We enjoyed the ample space that this rental provided.
The small elevator conveniently delivers you directly in front of the apartment entrance. We laughed every time the four of us jammed into it and listen to the automated voice.
I'd be comfortable recommending this location to a friend.
This was our first time renting a property through Home Away. We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 14.5 yrs., 12 yrs., 9 yrs.,) The location was perfect. We were able to take the tube from Heathrow to Holborn station, use the tube for our whole stay, walk to the theatre district, there was a grocery store around the corner and good restaurants in the area (Spaghetti House was very good and reasonably priced).
The size of the apartment was super, lots of space. The 5 of us using one washroom took some coordinating, but was not a major issue. Having a washing machine was great, it enabled us to pack lighter. The website is very accurate, what you see is what you get. Having the lift in the building was nice for carrying suitcases and at the end of long days of sightseeing. Martin the landlord was very helpful. He gave us some great sightseeing tips (visit the London Eye in the morning and take the hop on/off bus on weekends).
Other reviews mention the noise from the pub. As stated, by closing the second window, you are able to drown out the noise in the bedrooms. After walking about 10 kms a day, we were pretty oblivious to it!
Our favourite attractions were: The Tower of London - take the Beefeater tour, Buckingham Palace and the musicals (Les Miserables and Matilda).
I would definitely recommend this to family and friends and would stay again if we returned to London.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property on Sicilian Ave. The convenient location, ten minutes from the British Museum, three minutes from a Tube stop and grocery store, and right across the street from a bank made the location the perfect starting point of every day.
The apartment was well laid out and spacious and served the four of us well. The living room on one end and the bedrooms on the other with doors in between allowed some to go to bed early undisturbed by others who wished to stay up late. The terrace was a spectacular place to relax with coffee in the morning or a gin and tonic in the evening. The one bathroom might prove problematic for any more people but we had no problems and there’s a bath tub as well as a shower which was perfect for a long soak after a long day. Very hot water and water pressure were great.
The kitchen served us well too. We were able to roast chickens in the oven (once we figured out that the timer needed to be on) and breakfast with coffee or tea.
The washer and dryer were very helpful as you don’t need to pack as much when you can wash your clothes as you go (I think the dryer timer might not be working however). I would also suggest written instructions on how to use the oven and washer and dryer. Martin was very thorough in explaining everything in detail when we arrived but we had been up all night flying and weren’t entirely with it.
I highly, highly recommend Martin! He was on top of every question and concern from the time we made initial contact inquiring about the place, to once we arrived, and after we left with a speedy return of our deposit. He is a man you can trust and I will search for his properties first when booking future travel abroad.
One concern I would have is that if you are a light sleeper and the windows are open, the pub on the first floor is very popular and generates a lot of noise echoing through the plaza. Once the windows are closed you can’t hear any of it. It’s conversational noise not music so it didn’t bother me. I know I’m in a city and expect some noise.
I have to start by thanking Martin profusely for helping us out of a large problem when our original apartment was unavailable due to a fire within 1 week of arriving! Martin was unbelievably accommodating and sorted it all out well in time to settle our concerns. This apartment turned out to be much more suitable to our needs than the original one. It is a fantastic place to stay in London - within walking distance to tube station, Covent Garden and Theatres etc. The apartment is spacious and extremely well equipped with everything you could want or need. There is only 1 bathroom but we didn't find this a problem and there were 5 of us. Martin met us and explained everything well and there is a lot of information on everything to see and do in London. We found many wonderful places to eat and drink close by as well as enjoying the huge terrace which is a great bonus..
I would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone needing to sleep 4 - 5 people and would happily recommend renting any apartment off Martin for the professional and friendly service he provided. Thanks again Martin - see you next time. Jenny Evans
There are two very big positives about this flat and only one minor negative. The biggest positive is the location. It is right next to Holburn tube and walking distance to most West End theatres. Lots of shops, pubs, restos, etc. right at your door. Flat is quiet, comfortable and right in the middle of town. The other positive is Martin. Before, during and after our stay, he was extremely responsive as a landlord. One minor negative is that the flat has only one bathroom, even though it is three bedrooms. Overall, it is a fantastic experience renting from Martin.

When a booking is made more than 90 days prior to the arrival date, a £300 of rental is required as a deposit (after fees and exchange rate deductions) to confirm the reservation.
