Best area on the coast, full of multi million Spanish style villas, gated community, walk to local restaurant. Live in beautiful light filled villa, a real home, not a rental, with every home comfort. Delightful, comfortable rooms, with uninterrupted sea and mountain views from every window. Instant relaxation and peace. No road noise, no close neighbours, no one overlooks garden or pool or house.

suite bathrooms. Sleeps 10/12 in three lovely bedrooms in main house, two bedrooms in adjacent cottage, both with own entrances, ideal for couples, families, groups of friends.

Surrounded on all sides by gardens and terraces filled with flowers, this is the place to come to for relaxation, and to unwind from busy lives.

Indoor and outdoor dining, brick barbecue and cook's kitchen, guest enjoy cooking for themselves, and eating when and what they like. Close to supermarkets and 24 hour store. Excellent manager who is on hand to help during your stay and provide concierge service for anything you need.

There are many wonderful food shops and supermarkets within 5 minutes and some are open 24/7 and 365 days a year for the ultimate convenience. Taxis know the house and come within 5 minutes from the nearby taxi rank, but you would never know you are close to town.

The 24 hour gated security is helpful if you need to leave keys at the Guard House plus we have our own electric gates to own private driveway and courtyard parking.

The concierge service will be able to organise all your sightseeing and recommend that best restaurants, beaches, nightlife, car hire and cooks to come to the house for special occasions. We have owned the house for many years and can also provide masses of advice in advance to help you plan exactly what you would like to do.

Size:

2600 sq metre well fenced plot. Sun around pool all day,sun shades, sun loungers, outdoor dining opens to indoor dining.

Interior space of 450 sq m with three interconnecting reception rooms, plenty of sofas, modern kitchen,all bedrooms en suite with either bath or power shower rooms, quality linen, feather pillows.

Aspect:

This delightful villa is built on a hill, one of the best plots in the area, constructed around 1990 by a Spanish family, last house in the road, no passing traffic, no road noise.

Bedrooms:

The master bedroom fills the whole of the top floor, plus terrace. There are two bedrooms downstairs in the main house, one leading onto the pool and one facing the mountain. There are two bedrooms in a secluded single story cottage across the courtyard . Each cottage bedroom is en suite and has its own front door. The house is great for family groups and we supply cots and high chairs for additional small children.

Area:

El Madronal is one of the most sought after areas on this coastline. It is home to some of the most exclusive and expensive properties in all of Andalucia, and it is a well established community, built over twenty years ago. Each villa has its own very large plot and our house is unique in having spectacular views from all sides.

The hillside location benefits from cool breezes and clear skies. There is plenty to do on the property, outside there is a garden and toys can be supplied by the concierge service. There is a side terrace to enjoy the evening sun year round, a barbecue, an outdoor dining table, wonderful pool and shallow ledge for sunbathing.

Plenty of sun loungers with cushions and towels.

Eating:

Huge well equipped kitchen. 24 hour shop close by. Easy access range of supermarkets. Top restaurant, El Coto, within walking distance. 5 minute taxi to the port restaurant area of Puerto Banus or to Benahavis the restaurant village in the hills.

Arrival by plane:

45 minutes from both Malaga and Gibraltar airports with numerous low cost flights from Europe. Fast train from Madrid.

Golf:

Many golf courses within 10 minutes: La Quinta Golf Course and Los Arqueros golf are within 5 minutes.

There is a luxury spa at La Quinta, as well as paddle tennis and a golf academy for beginners.

Exploring the area:

El Madronal is also a fabulous base for exploring Andalucia. Ronda, home of bullfighting, Granada, the white villages, Cordoba, Seville, Tarifa and even north Africa can all be visited in a day or overnight stay if you do not want an early start.

There are local markets, festivals, the famous Puerto Banus, the old town of Marbella and many sandy beaches all within 15 minutes of the house.

About Penny Holley

Married to Tim, four children, grandchildren who learned to swim at La Cotorra. We now live in Oxfordshire and our children live and work in London, Los Angeles, Philadephia. We visit La Cotorra less and less because we visit them more and more! Long stay rentals are therefore possible.

Why Penny Holley chose West Costa del Sol

We were staying with friends nearby who knew this villa was for sale and we fell in love with it, even though we were not intending to buy. It has an instant appeal with totally amazing views all around. It was designed and built by a Spanish family who lived here all year round and knew how to capture the best of the sun and yet keep the interiors cool in summer and warm in winter. They understood how to build to take best advantage of the sun and the amazing plot, one of the best on the coast.

What makes this villa unique

The views all around and from every window make this a beautiful place to stay any time of year. We never tire of looking at the mountains and enjoying the peace and beauty of the surroundings. So many visitors have said how much there is to do on this coast and many of our guests return year after year and also consider La Cotorra to be their home.

We were a group of ten for two weeks and we all found the accommodation wonderful. The views, gardens, pool, patio were spectacular. We could not of asked for more. We visited Ronda, Puerto Banus, Marbella, Seville, Granada and Gibraltar. We also lounged on the beach, at wonderful meals out and enjoyed much wine and laughter around the dining room table. This is a truly magical spot. We will highly recommend this to all of our friends who want to explore the south of spain.

Fabulous property with amazing views!!!

Very impressed would definitely stay again! This beautiful, well kept villa was like a home from home. Infinity pool and views were amazing. Perfect for a getaway with friends (like we did) Puerto Banus only a 10 min taxi ride away, but also thinking of coming back with the kids. Highly recommended!

Amazing week away with friends

We just came back from a week at this stunning villa. It is not often you come across a property where the pictures do not do justice. This villa really is beautiful, with amazing views across the entire property, to pool side fun and amazing communal areas. Our group was made up of 4 couples for which the villa was more than adequate for. Getting around town was very easy as the security guys were helpful in providing a good and reliable taxi service. The villa is situated around 15/20 mins away from Puerto Banus and around 10/15 mins from the nearest supermarket. The kitchen and BBQ was well equipped for us to cook and two big dishwashers meant there was more pool time as clean up time was next to nothing. This villa comes highly recommended and would consider staying again in the future.

40th Celerbration

I wanted to spend my birthday somewhere special and I couldn't of picked anywhere better. There were five couples everyone had an amazing time making the whole experience even more special. The house and views were amazing leaving an everlasting memory thank you.

Luxury away from it all

A group of 11 stayed at La Cotorra for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. Beautiful villa in a private complex with spectacular views and private pool. Very well furnished (3 coffee machines to choose from!) and within a 10 minute taxi ride of the hustle and bustle of Puerto Banus. La Cotorra really does offer the bbes of both worlds. Couldn't recommend enough and hope to be back one day.

A villa - and holiday - with the WOW factor!

We have just returned from the most fabulous week at La Cotorra - it was very hard packing up our suitcases....! Your villa is wonderful and wants for nothing, all four of us (Fred, Lucy, Ralphie & Sophia) had a fantastic week by the pool and beach respectively and we keep looking back over all our photos. Our stay ticked all the summer holiday boxes and we feel very lucky indeed to have had a whole week in such luxury surroundings. THANK YOU!!!

La vista mas precioso y tranquilo

Having just returned from another visit to La Cotorra we want to rewind the clock and stay all over again!

If you can wake yourself early enough from your peaceful slumber in the huge, crispy laundered beds, to throw open the bedroom doors and watch the sun rise over La Concha mountain, as you sip your first breakfast coffee, it's an absolute treat and not to be missed! The house is fantastically spacious with plenty of seating areas for all, however, we always prefer to use the outside area from dawn to dusk, dipping in and out of the pool all day and using the outside dining area. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need including a plate warmer, an ice making fridge and two dishwashers!

We love the addition of the outside shower this year, particularly as the weather was a constant, glorious 38 degrees!

We prefer to be away from the hustle but near enough to visit places when we choose to drag ourselves away from tranquility and the pool. It's in a very central location, we love Ronda, Juzcar, Estepona, Puerto Banus and Benalmadena. The local San Pedro Thursday market is the cheapest market around with fab linen, leather, China and wicker goods plus gorgeous local fruit and veg produce.

We always find the property beautifully clean, and this year in particular the staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating to us, I must also add that the beds are all beautifully made up with spotlessly clean, fresh, crisp cotton bedding.

I have reccommended this accommodation to many of my friends and family who have all visited over the last few years and have all had wonderful experiences, my father in particular adores this house.

I can't thank the owners enough for providing the use of such a beautiful house in a much sought after location.

Close to Puerto Banus and the Marbella coast. Plenty of long sandy beaches for swimming, kite surfing, diving, and fabulous restaurants of every description. Horse riding in the hills. Fabulous golf courses in every direction. First class shopping.

One hour to Ronda, Day Trips to Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Donana National Park, Tarifa and North Africa by hydrofoil in 25 minutes. Sailing, diving, exploring or sun lounging on the beach.

Sunshine, sea, warm days and nights and a wonderful, quiet home to return to.

Walk to great restaurant. Short taxi ride to world famous night life on the coast in Marbella and Puerto Banus. Numerous excellent restaurants inland and on the coast that we can recommend.

  • There are three stunning bedrooms in the main house, with en suite bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has two double beds, making it ideal for children or four young friends to share. A total of 8 can sleep in the house. Across the courtyard is a single storey cottage with two lovely light bedrooms, both en suite, both with their own door to the courtyard. This cottage ideal for four visitors or teenagers wanting some privacy. All the five bathrooms are marble or tiled with modern fittings, heated towel rails, fluffy towels. All the bedrooms have air conditioning, heating, a full range of wardrobe space, marble or terracotta floors with rugs, mountain and sea views from the windows, quiet, absolutely no traffic noise. The huge master bedroom has a private terrace, and occupies the top floor of the house. All other bedrooms are ground floor with duvets in winter, and lovely white linen sheets in summer. The house is looked after by a management company who are on call throughout.

There is a separate utility room with washing machine and pool inflatables, lounger cushions and a basket of poolside towels. Internet access and the large television receives UK channels & Sky packages. DVD's and CD's are provided. There are many books, novels, travel guides and maps. The garden has been fenced and is well laid out with beautiful, colourful flower borders and terraces on three sides of the house. Watering system keeps everything green and the pool man and gardener visit twice a week, once in winter The house is on its own little hill and so the drive is fairly steep, but then this affords the excellent views all around. We have a local English speaking manager and cook and cleaner can be provided every day on request. The drive is entered through your own electric gates and the house has a security alarm system. Wheelchair access if possible to all the ground floor rooms and bedrooms and to the poolside, garden.
