Overview

About the property

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom (sleeps 2)

Don't want to spend the night in a cold, wet tent? But... don't want to break the bank either? We completely understand.

That is why we added this economy cabin to our options. You will get clean, dry, private accommodations without the high cost of the other cabins in the area, and best of all, NO TENT to deal with!

--This is a one room cabin that is best suited for two people.

--There is a small refrigerator, microwave, and single-burner hot plate for fixing your food.

--An electric fireplace makes the cabin toasty during cool weather, and the shade and 3000 ft elevation provide great, natural AC.

--The bed is a comfy queen-size sofa bed (softer than the hard ground!).

--In addition, a complete bath provides you with a warm shower as well as a toilet and sink that is much cleaner than the campgrounds' bathhouses.

--Outside, there is a picnic table and fire pit, so that you don't have to give up the advantages of camping.

You have never had a better place to camp for this price!

About Kent & Cynthia

I am a west Virginia resident for 26 years. I live in the Seneca Rocks area and love sharing the beauty of the area with others.

Kent & Cynthia purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Kent & Cynthia chose Riverton

We built this property because all of the nice, secluded places to stay in the area are above 100.00 per night. I know some of us cannot afford expensive vacations. Tent-camping provides an economical vacation; yet, tent-camping is not a completely relaxing, work-free adventure. This cabin is intended to fill the "need" for a fun, work-free, yet inexpensive getaway.

What makes this cabin unique

Small, clean, and cozy. Inexpensive. Close to a number of the best attractions of West Virginia's most scenic area.

Escape to the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time visiting Kent and Cynthia's cabins in Spruce Knob. Both times we have been overwhelmingly impressed. Each cabin we have stayed in (this one and Cabin number 3) were immaculately maintained, and for the small size we were impressed by the amount of necessary amenities that were seamlessly provided. We have had less than ideal weather both times we have visited, but we have still managed to explore the local area. There are some great hiking trails on spruce knob, promising trout streams, great views at the Spruce Knob lookout center, and fun drives to make to other attractions. However, the cabins are definitely cozy enough to to stay and relax in. The lack of wifi and cell service is definitely a bonus- we enjoy the forced unplugging!

Excellent accommodations !

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin near both Seneca Rocks and Spruce Knob is immaculate both inside and outside. Every amenity needed is packed into one room, and the cleanliness and attention to detail are unparalleled. It is apparent that the owners have thought of everything, and they are extremely prompt in all replies to any inquiries. We stayed in the neighboring cabin a few years ago, but it was already booked when we made our reservation for this one. It would be our preference only because of size because it does have a separate bedroom. But both get 5 star reviews from us!

Cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very clean, excellent location -was nice 2 get away with no cell phones, wi-fi or t.v - the only reason for not giving 5 stars was no a.c- but it really wasn't bad, being it set back in the woods! Very nice relaxing trip will definitely do again! Had contact with owner- nice guy ,he went out of his way to insure we had a good visit! Thank you

Perfect, Perfect,Perfect little hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here. It is such a clean, cozy comfortable little cabin. It has everything you need while still getting away from it all. I loved waking up early and sitting out on the porch watching the wildlife that would wander on by. It is very easy to find and there are a lot of attractions close by. We went to Black Water Falls, Cass Railroad, Seneca and Smoke hole caverns, Greenbank Observatory, Harpers General Store, Seneca Rocks and the list goes on and on. We will definitely be back and I have recommended this place to all of our. We call this our little tree house. Thank you Kent & Cynthia for helping make our 25th a memorable one!
