Our home is located right on the water in Oak Creek Canyon and is just 4 miles from up town Sedona! The creek is stocked with Rainbow Trout if fishing is your thing....and the deck has a grill and eating area if you want to grill it! Not into cooking, a great deli/store that also serves breakfast is located right across the road. Enjoy long strolls on the forest service road that is right outside your door. Hiking of all levels is abundant in the canyon and swimming/tubing in the creek during warmer months is a wonderful way to spend your day! And, Slide Rock is just a few miles down the road. If shopping, golfing, gambling, dining, four-wheeling or sight-seeing is your thing, you are only minutes away to everything Sedona and Northern Arizona has to offer including the wild animal park, Bearizona and Indian ruins. And, if you've never been or want to go again, we are close enough for a day-trip to the Grand Canyon too!
We, Angelo and Barbara, are partners in life (married 30 years) as well as partners in business. At one time, we owned and operated a Food Service Brokerage business in the Phoenix area. But 'wised up' and moved to beautiful Sedona where we now are licensed realtors with Coldwell Banker First Affiliate.
Barbara Pancrazio purchased this cottage in 2004
Having lived up high on a hill in the canyon many years, we longed to live on the creek. So in 2004, we found what we consider to be the best spot in Arizona and loving it ever since, our Cottage on Oak Creek! Barbara's parents developed and opened Rainbow Trout Farm in the early 1960's which is located just south of the cottage so this is home! Angelo was a 'city boy', originally from Chicago, but now you can't get him out of his jeans and the country lifestyle.
Mother Nature provides many pleasures for us to enjoy year around in Oak Creek Canyon. The snow fall in the winter is just enough to satisfy our need to see it fall and then it melts within a day or so. We must admit, however, that when spring comes, we can hardly wait to have cocktail hour on the back deck overlooking Oak Creek. Wild life is everywhere and we have been privileged to see eagles, blue heron flying overhead, deer on the back road and even a skunk swimming in the creek. And yet, a great deli is just across the street and uptown Sedona is only 4 miles away! What's not to love!
Barbara, you did it again! You can't ask for anything more in a host, folks, she really went the extra mile for me to help me make this vacation happen! Thank you for allowing us to once again vacation at your wonderful property! I couldn't ask for more, even when it was a very busy Oak Creek canyon, we had the deck and our portion of the creek to ourselves! Really enjoyed the huge patio and the grill overlooking the creek, so peaceful! The brand new fridge is also impressive and amply held the food we brought to cook. Also very conveniently located and I highly recommend guests check out the Indian Gardens store across the street for breakfast, lunch, or a break, they even have gluten free selections! I can't wait to come back and visit again! Truly a little piece of paradise!
This was our fist time using HomeAway and it was fantastic. We spent a long weekend up in an Oak Creek Canyon cottage was so very comfortable and well furnished. We had two patio sitting areas one of which was so very close to the water that we were able to see the fish jumping. The sound of the rushing water was just so very relaxing.
The cottage itself had everything that we everything that we needed and forgot to bring. It also had a brand new refrigerator, washer dryer and dishwasher. . The cottage was "dog" friendly so we brought the dogs who also enjoyed our walking and hiking experience. The cable TV was also a plus as was the 2 bathrooms.
Count us in for a another visit to the cottage.

This was such a disappointment. The cabin was old and smelled like a nursing home. It was dark and depressing. Instead of trash liners in the waste baskets she used old used Bashas grocery bags. There are old dirty stuffed animals laying all over the house. The linens and pillows are old, small and flat. Nothing felt welcoming. Very unhappy .....especially for the amount of money she charged. Over the bed in the master bedroom was a dead animal on display. Not very conducive to a good nights sleep. Very dirty feeling.
Our family of four spent a long weekend as a much- needed respite from the Phoenix heat in late June here. Location was perfect! The patio overlooking the creek is shaded by trees much of the day. We just moved chairs around periodically. It was my reading room.
We went down to the creek to wade in the water and enjoy the view. My son likes photography and enjoyed walking up and down the creek taking pictures.
The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking but if you'd rather go out, the Indian Gardens Cafe & Market has great breakfast and lunch and is walking distance.
We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you Barbara!
Thoroughly enjoyed this private, unique and welcoming neighborhood. On a hot day you really appreciate this cool heavily wooded and shaded area. Hearing and seeing the creek flow and walking the dogs to the spring house were my favorite experiences. The restaurant across the street was great for breakfast. We were visiting over 4th weekend and 89A totally stopped with traffic from 3pm on into the night due to everyone coming back toward Sedona from trails and slide rock ... so you don't want to plan to drive into town during such busy times. Would only have been more delighted if the price (and all the extra fees) were less.
Beautiful area and the location was perfect. We had a amazing family vacation. The deck was a great place to play games and enjoy the cool evenings. Will stay here again.
Oak Creek Canyon , where our home is located, is just outside of Sedona which has been named as one of the most beautiful places on Earth! Outdoor activities include Slide Rock which is a natural water rock 'slide' created through eons of years by the running waters of Oak Creek as well as a plethora of hiking trails. Sedona features many restaurants, shopping, outdoor activities and natural red rock scenery. This area is known for the Native American wares available as well as its Fine Arts. A short drive will take you to Jerome, a ghost town and historic copper mining community, that is now a fun-filled sight-seeing destination. So much to do!
