The property is 9,900 square meters (around 2.25 acres) and features: a main house with 2 bedrooms/bathrooms (one with a king-size bed and a sofa/single, the other with 2 full-size beds and a sofa/single), a living room, kitchen, porch, patio, and dining table. A separate cottage (honeymoon suite) has a king-size bed, a beautiful half-open bathroom and private terrace. There's a playpen and toys for kids. There is also satellite TV in both houses as well as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot for 5 hookups. A rancho (straw hut) has two dining areas, 'open-air' and 'inside', as well as hammocks and couches with great views of the beach. The main patio has an unimpeded, 180-degree view of the ocean, with couches and chairs and a big umbrella for shade. A small house for the handyman/gardener is next to the entrance to the property.
The experience is one of beauty, peace, and tranquility. With no immediate neighbors, the place is private and secluded. At night you hear nothing but crickets and crashing waves, and when the sky is clear it fills up with stars. The houses and hut have a rustic feel with modern convenience.
Aside from the handyman/gardener, a cleaning lady/cook comes daily from 8 am to 3 pm. She makes breakfast and lunch, cleans the houses, makes the beds, etc. Neither of them speak English but simple Spanish will suffice. Both are hardworking and extremely nice and have experience with foreign guests.
The beach is a famous surfing destination, yet parts of it have no or small waves were kids and less experienced swimmers can enjoy the ocean. A small river disembogues right in front of the house, giving the place an added water experience.
Just 2 Km away on the Panamerican Highway is Coronado, which offers restaurants, supermarkets, shopping centers, drugstores, banks, a hospital and a 18-hole golf course. A 45-minute drive in the other direction is El Valle (the valley), where you can enjoy hiking, mountain climbing, water falls, horseback ridding, bird watching, bike ridding, canopy tours, hot springs, and a local market on the weekends.
To reserve the property, 50% of the rent plus the security deposit is required upfront, with the remaining 50% due 30 days prior to check-in. Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to check-in forfeit 50% of the rent (for any dates that we are able to rebook, the renter will receive a full refund, less 10% of the original booking). Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay made within 30 days of check-in date forfeit the full rent. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.
