Gorgeous 2BR/ 1BA patio rental on famous San Sebastian Street in Old San Juan. Calle San Sebastian is the famous street in the historic old city, where the annual San Sebastian Fest originated, which attracts thousands of visitors every January. The colorful historic buildings together with many different restaurants and bars create a lively, tropical atmosphere. The apartment is beautifully decorated. With original wooden doors and wooden ceilings at 18ft. it reflects the charm of the old days, yet offers modern amenities to make your stay pleasant. The equipped kitchen has room for 4 person to enjoy their meal at home, but if you love to eat out you find several choices literally at your door steps. The 2 bed rooms offer comfortable bedding, up to 4 person may sleep on 1 queen and 2 twin beds. The apartment has ceiling fans throughout and offers Internet as well as Roku (a movie down-streaming devise) for entertainment.

Best possible location in all of Puerto Rico. Old San Juan is where you want to be- especially on calle de San Sebastian. The apartment is AMAZING. I honestly wish I can move here. LOCATION IS EVERYTHING. You really can enjoy Old San Juan without walking further than a mile radius. Everything is right downstairs. Loved it.

Nice unit but noisy Thurs-Sat nights

Plus side: The staff at Vida Urbana are pleasant, helpful and responsive.

Whoever created the apartment had a great eye for design. The patio has a retractable canvas cover and, even on cloudy days, fills the apartment with light. It is also a great place to just enjoy the sun. The opening between the rooms and hall (forming part of the patio), and the patio and the stairwell permit very good flow of air. Combined with very high ceilings and fans the unit was always comfortable. Painting the walls white and the wood doors and window louvers dark brown made it feel very Spanish and refreshing. The bedrooms are air conditioned and those work very well.

Minus side: The furniture in the patio, necessarily outdoor type, is hard and not comfortable. Privacy is not great. The stairway to the third-floor apartment has two large open windows that look right down into the patio and the hallway. Make sure you are mostly covered before leaving the bathroom after a shower. The many openings, covered only by wooden bars or louvers, let sound bounce off the hard walls and between apartments. There is also a water pump above a drop ceiling in the bathroom that feeds a plastic cistern. It and kicks on and off frequently. The complete absence of any outside windows is a little disconcerting.

Mixed: Calle San Sebastian has apparently been recently designated as the late night party area for Old San Juan (and maybe for all of Puerto Rico) and not just for the annual festival. On Thursdays to Saturdays the bars keep their multiple large doors open and the music volume high, trying to drown out that of their competitors. If you are looking to party into the wee hours, this is the place for you, it actually sits directly above one of the bars. On the Wednesday night we were there things were quiet – the only sound was that of the cistern pump. On Thursday night loud thumping music went on to about 12.30 AM. On Friday, it lasted until about 1.30 and on Saturday night (Sunday morning) to a little after 4 AM. Sleep was impossible during those times. At 2.30 Sunday morning I actually got dressed and went down and outside to see if it was what it sounded like and, sure enough, there were about 60-70 guys (and 4-5 girls) out in the street, walking, talking and drinking on that block alone. There were also others inside the bars, although not as many. I am told that it gets quiet again on Sunday nights.

Beautiful but wish it were elsewhere.

Perfect Home for a Old San Juan Vacation.

Great apartment, tons of space great view from balcony. House has everything you need. Its walking distance to anything you need . Only complaint is the upstairs tenent was not to fond of our music and asked us to lower the volume a few times. Other then that its was a perfect vacation home

Best location!

Best location!

First of all the best feature of the apartment is the location! The apartment is located at one of Old San Juan most famous streets. Restaurants and bars are literally steps from the building. Close to many historical sites it is a quiet apartment right in the middle of the action (El Morro Fortress, The Cathedral, La Fortaleza, pubic parking building, among others).

The apartment is beautifully decorated and very clean, with plenty of space for a group of 4. It was a nice surprise to see that the patio was fully furnished so it was the perfect spot for breakfast or just hanging out. The manager was there to meet us upon arrival and was very responsive to our email inquiries and general questions.

I would definitely stay here again!

Old San Juan is the oldest city on US Territory and part of the World Heritage. It is about 8 by 8 blocks of unique colonial style architecture and offers everything from restaurants, bars, Puerto Rican coffee shops, galleries, open air music, and nice paths to walk by the Port & Ocean, tourist shops to grocery store, pharmacy, Marshalls and Starbucks. The closest unofficial beach is in front of the Capitol Building in about 10-15 walking minutes from almost anywhere in Old San Juan. The nearest blue flag beach is called El Escambron and can reached in about 25-30 minutes walking along the Atlantic Ocean or in about 5 minutes by car/ taxi or bus. Old San Juan has a bus station from where you can go to Plaza Las Americas, the biggest mall in the Caribbean, to the Convention Center, as well as to Condado and Isla Verde, the other two main tourist spots along the coast of San Juan. Condado and Isla Verde are the modern parts of the city and have great beaches, hotels & casinos & much more...
