We have taken care to convert this once private residence to a very comfortable rental chalet. There are 3 king suites, 1 queen suite and 1 bonus suite that includes a queen, a full, two futons and a baby crib. All the bedrooms have HDTV flat screens and ceiling fans.
The lower level game room consists of a wet bar, pool table, Foosball and a dartboard. It also has a media room with a 52 inch flat screen 'smart' TV and a gas fireplace. Outside the game room on the lower deck you will find a new Hot Tub with wonderful views.
The main floor living room has a 18 foot ceiling, a gas fireplace, a 55 inch flat screen 'smart' TV, and a tall-boy table and chairs for mountain viewing while dining.
The main level kitchen features a center island with plenty of counter and cupboard space, matching stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator, microwave, and stove/range. An eat-in kitchen table and chairs with a 32' wall mounted HDTV completes this room.
The main floor is also comprised of a entry foyer, formal dining room, full laundry room, full bathroom, a master king bedroom suite and doors leading to an outside covered deck.
The upper floor consists of three large bedroom suites (all with mountain views) and a full bathroom.
Outside, the front entrance has been professionally landscaped with flowering shrubs and ground cover. The covered front porch has bench seating, a full guard rail system and a key-less front door lock system.
This home has central heat and air conditioning, thermal-pane screened windows, and all doors have screen doors. New wooden planked floors or ceramic tile is found in all living areas. Original, signed and numbered framed art work is hung throughout the chalet.
This is a pet-friendly property for up to a 25 lb pet. We have a large metal portable kennel available for pets when guests are away from the chalet.
David and Betty (owners) are semi-retired Snowbirds. We are residents of Bradenton, FL but summer over on the cool waters of the Great Lakes. We are active investors and have found Gatlinburg TN to be a promising retirement and resort area a day's drive from FL to plant a flag! We have an English Cream Golden Retriever, Ivy, who loves to travel along with us.
David or Betty purchased this chalet in 2012
We fell in love with this property because of its high elevation in the mountains and the close proximity to our FL and Great Lakes homes. We desire to have access to all four seasons without the long cold northern winters nor the hot and humid summers found in FL.
This property is relatively new and it is good size for accommodating large families and friends. The long distance mountain views are on pare with beach-front property in terms of being special.
One unique benefit of being at 3,200 feet elevation is that the temperature here is about 10 degrees cooler than downtown Gatlinburg which is at 1,200 feet. This property provides a welcomed summer temperature drop from the surrounding SE USA. Another is that no structures will ever be built on the National Park land across the street!
This is a beautiful home. It has all of the amenities. The views from the decks are incredible. If you're looking for a place in the middle of all of the action, this isn't for you. If you're looking for a peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle, you'll fall in love with it like we did. It is still close to Gatlinburg, but the steep and winding roads made me reluctant to make more than one trip into town in a day. Traveling back up the mountain in the dark is nerve wracking. There are flat screens in every room of the house with HD cable. Netflix and HBO GO in the living rooms was a plus. The kids loved the pool table, Foosball, and hot tub. Our party was two families of 4 with kids from ages 5-9. The only disappointment was that we didn't see any bears!
This place was great! The house was beautiful and very well stocked with everything you will need. Plenty of towels and blankets, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen has it all! The views from this Chalet are breathtaking! You can see for miles and the sunrises are a sight to see! Be prepared to drive up some pretty steep and curvy roads this house is very high on the mountain but once you get to the top it is worth the drive!
