The perfect location for your family vacation, couple's getaway, group retreat or reunion. Our house is the best location on an extraordinary lake, with southern exposure, a large deck and plenty of dock space, plus a swim float. Green Lake is a small, pond-size lake, so boat traffic is low, waves are small, and kids are safe. Canada Lake, accessed by boat, offers more adventures. Hike from the house to Kane Mountain fire tower for breathtaking views, or let the kids explore nearby ponds with salamanders, tadpoles and beaver dams. You can have a fulfilling week without leaving the lake – but there’s lots to explore in this unique southern Adirondack location. Saratoga, Cooperstown, the Adirondack Museum and Lake George Great Escape are popular day trips.
My siblings and I grew up with summers on Green Lake, and we have a deep love for this special place and its people. I now live in New Hampshire -- also beautiful country, but I miss being able to spend as much time at our home on Green Lake home as we would like. We are thrilled to be able to share this spot and vicariously enjoy the summer on the lake with our guests.
Martha Tecca purchased this house in 1990
My parents discovered Green Lake in the early 70's and both rented and owned other houses on the lake. They purchased this home in 1990, because it's truly the best spot on what we think to be the best lake in the foothills of the Adirondacks! The house sits right on the lake, with the road a safe distance behind it; there is a nice stretch of waterfront, with a gradually sloping, sandy bottom; we have wonderful neighbors on both sides; there are hiking and biking trails right out the back door; and from our protected, small lake, we can access larger Canada, West and Lily Lakes. It's a truly special spot!
So many! The house is really set in nature, with a master bedroom that looks out over the lake and a fabulous deck that fills with afternoon sun. There are always loons, and in this calm lake you often see them just yards from the shore. Two firsts this year: the biggest fish we've caught in green lake -- my son caught an 18' bass, and we saw a merganser duck with 7 babies on her back! Two days later the ducklings were following her solo. There's always something new!
We had the opportunity to enjoy the Boyd Camp with our three adult sons, two daughters-in-law , and our granddaughter for a long Columbus Day weekend. Great outdoor ambiance and plenty of indoor space during the rain. Would love to return.
As soon as you pull up , you know you are going to enjoy your stay.
We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed chilling on the deck and around the fire pit in the evening.
So quite and peaceful , just what we needed. The views from the deck are wonderful and we were there just at the start of the fall, so the colours were changing everyday.
Get up early and enjoy the mist rolling across the lake and see the locals going out in their boats ,fishing.
The house has everything you need and is very comfortable, it fact so much so , it was a job to pull yourselfs away to enjoy the surrounding area. Wonderful hikes are close by , in fact two are on the doorstep.
Just down the road is a country store selling all sorts.
All in all we had a wonderful time.
Martha is very helpful and always replies to e mails very quickly.
Came back to the area after more than 20 years of being away, was able to relive old memories and start new memories with the family. Hope to come back again and continue a new legacy.
We loved the peace and quiet of Green Lake. The house is very well equipped with everything you need and the caretakers are on the same road. Just a walk or phone call away. We enjoyed the hiking trails that are very close and convenient to the property. This is the second year we have stayed there. Our dogs love being able to just run into the lake - very clean and clear. The row boat and kayak were well used. The book selection at the house is fantastic. Everyone found something to read. The fire pit was voted the best by the family compared to any other place we have stayed - that's saying a lot!
The house was ok. Having two canoes one row boat and a kayak made water activities great!!
The camp and setting are beautiful and peaceful. The family went out of their way to accomodate to make our stay enjoyable. Especially Loved the upstairs bedroom overlooking the lake, the large kitchen, and the diningroom table area overlooking the lake. Nice swimming area and dock/firepit area . The owner keeps the camp stocked with things the guests can use during their stay to make their stay feel like home. We loved our time there and plan on renting it again!
Small, quiet lake wonderful for families, canoeing/kayaking, swimming, exploring. Boat tunnel access to larger Canada Lake. Weekly community activities open to all visitors. Walk out back door to trails for walking, bigger hikes, mountain biking. Easy walk or boat (or drive) to Canada Lake Store for treats or necessities. Nearby Adirondack adventures: many lakes, ponds and streams, extensive canoeing, 'Potholers' waterfalls/ledges, trails, etc. Quaint historical sites and museums, mini-golf, local concerts, art and antiques.
