What makes this House unique
We enjoy the seclusion and relaxed feeling you will experience while rocking in a chair on deck listening to the wind blowing through the trees. Or watching the sun set over the mountain peaks

The interior of the house is unparalleled at this price point. Perfect for a small family reunion type event. The rooms are good for kids or couples and the kitchen is excellent. The exterior is functionally adequate, with ample seating, and beautiful landscaping. The porches were, however, filthy and could use a good washing and/or sweeping. Otherwise, we were disappointed the view was greatly disrupted by the summer foliage, but that foliage also provided some privacy from the two neighboring houses. The view would probably be INCREDIBLE in Fall/Winter. A really impressive place, particularly for get togethers with close friends and family.
The wife wanted a last second quick trip to the North Georgia mountains and this home was PERFECT for what we wanted. A lovely home with everything we could want. Beautifully decorated, plenty of entertainment, and the kitchen was FULLY stocked. Ray was a pleasure to work with as he answered all my questions. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you so much for your response glad you had a great time at Bear Ridge come see us again real soon
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The driveway is steep and somewhat intimidating, (to me, not my husband!), but the directions provided were very helpful. (Plan to arrive during daylight when you first arrive.) There is plenty of room to gather together as well as comfy spaces for some solitude. We spent a lot of time sitting outside on the decks (loved the porch swing and rocking chairs!) and in the hot tub looking out at the mountains. We made many meals in the beautiful, well stocked kitchen and using the gas grill. (I do recommend bringing containers for leftovers.) We played pool, cards, and board games. (They have some board games, but we brought our own favorites and a couple decks of cards.) Wi-fi worked well for accessing internet and for Wi-fi calling. (Cell phone strength is spotty in the mountains.) We watched the NCAA tournament games as well as DVD movies we brought with us. (With 4 tv's on three different levels, everyone can watch what they want or nothing at all!) Beds were comfortable, and there were lots of towels/washcloths & extra sheets/blankets. There was also plenty of handsoap, dishsoap, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex, etc. Any questions/concerns we had before and during our stay were addressed in a timely manner. Just spending time together as a family in this beautiful house was a great break from our usual hectic lives!
There are also lots of things to do not too far away. We did some hiking and sightseeing. There is a parking lot and access to the Appalachian Trail about 10-15 minutes from the house. We enjoyed a morning exploring there. We also drove up Bell Mountain which has fantastic views of the lake and town below. Hiking to High Shoals Falls was a fun adventure including driving up the steep, curvy, gravel road to the small parking lot where the trailhead is located. (We had to drive through some water on this gravel road, but had no problem in our truck. We also saw a car that had driven through it just fine.) It is also worth the time to make the short trip to Brasstown Bald. From the parking lot you can hike up a steep, paved path or take the bus up to the visitor center from which you can see both Carolinas, Tennessee, and Georgia. We also visited the unique German town of Helen, GA, and took a day trip to see the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.
The house and its surroundings were everything we hoped it would be!
We have been visiting this area for years, however this was the best experience that we've had! The cabin was much more than expected and views were so beautiful! As far as amenities, they far exceeded our expectations! We could not have asked for a better location as far as being close to town and being secluded. We can't wait to book our next trip!
Thanks for your kind words we strive to make the property a very special place for all of our guests
Great rainy weekend
It rained the entire weekend that my family and I stayed in the area, but we still had a wonderful time . The house was in excellent condition , and along will the amenities that the house offers, especially the kitchen and view from the porches, it turned out to be a great weekend. Recommend stay rain or shine.
Cabin that is Perfect for Relaxation
My family, and I had a perfect getaway at Bear Ridge. The kitchen has just been remodeled with granite countertops, all new upper end appliances, and a beautiful farmhouse copper sink. The perfect place to prepare all your meals especially combined with the butane gas grill. The cabin is located in a very peaceful location at the very end of the driveway which offers magnificent views. The driveway is steep but very easy to navigate. The cabin offers plenty of room to spread out for families offering several sitting areas and two gas fireplaces. The beds were very comfortable, and I was quite impressed by the amount of linens and towels that were provided.
Ray was easy to work with, and was always quick to communicate. It was truly a pleasure to to stay at Bear Ridge.
thanks for the kind words, our staff works hard to make everyone's stay special and memorable.
the cabin is approx. 7 miles from Hiawassee for all of the services mentioned above.
