Great accommodation, great facilities and great location.
Amazing accommodation, facilities and location!!
We stayed in great cleaves cottage with another family and had an amazing time. The photos really don’t do this place justice. The cottage itself is huge with plenty of space to accommodate everyone comfortably. The on-site facilities were fantastic, the pool and games room were used every day - perfect for keeping 5 active boys happy! The location is ideal- remote enough to feel like you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life yet close enough to local amenities if you run out of essentials. Dartmoor itself didn’t stop giving- so many beautiful walks and great beaches to enjoy. Would highly recommend this place for others to visit.
2nd stay here and it was just as good
Great location, great accommodation. Really spacious. It was our second stay and we would definitely go again. Thanks!
Thank you! Hope to see you again!
Perfect for a family Christmas
Seven of us stayed here for our Xmas break. Plenty of comfortable beds. Beautifully warm house with log fire as well. Kitchen very well equipped. Would definitely recommend Great Cleave. It’s also ideal as a holiday home for walkers although the weather didn’t allow us to walk. Barbara is a lovely host.
Many thanks. Would love to see your family again. And happy new year!
Weekend away with friends and family for a celebration. Ticked all the boxes for all age groups, 30's 60's& 70's.
Facilities very good in the cottage, games room & swimming pool.
Owner friendly and helpful would certainly recommend a holiday here for peace and quiet.
Fingle Bridge Inn and river side walk excellent, as was the Three Crowns Hotel in Chagford
for Sunday lunch.
Family party of two teenagers, a child, a baby, two dogs and five adults to celebrate a 60th birthday. It accomodated us all comfortably. The cottage is well stocked with all you could need, the little pool was lovely. We all had a fabulous time. Huge Thank you to the Clarke’s.
You're very welcome! It's a pleasure. Thank you for your kind words.
Dartmoor National Park is one of the last wilderness areas of Britain -- moorland landscape, wild ponies, ancient settlements -- great walks. Also easy access to Exmoor, and either the rugged seascapes of North Devon and Cornwall or the milder Channel shores of South Devon. 3 miles from Chagford (old town known for its shopping and nearby walks), 10 from Exeter, 8 from Okehampton. We are within 10 miles of three 18 hole golf courses including Bovey Castle. Only an hour from the Eden Project. Children love the Miniature Pony Centre at Moretonhampstead (5 miles) and the House of Marbles at Bovey Tracey (12 miles). Five minutes from the last castle built in England -- Castle Drogo. 13 miles from Exeter and Exeter University.
On a typical day at East Underdown you could talk a short walk up the road to the ancient stones of Spinster's Rock, lunch at one of the many local pubs, relax with a swim and sauna before cuddling up by the wood burner (or hanging out on the private patio).
