Why Steven chose Carrollton

Walk to Leesville Lake (house is not on lake - its a 5 minute walk), one of the best kept secrets in Ohio for a awesome lake. The water is great for swimming and considered one of the best fishing lakes in Ohio. Once you get here it's serene, quiet and beautiful. Downside is that town is a drive and the major attraction is the natural beauty of the area and the lake!

What makes this cabin unique

This is not your fathers cabin, it is contemporary in the interior design, and is moderized in every way. No TV or internet! Just Peace and Quiet!

Updated Cabin in the woods makes relaxing easy.

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I wanted a quiet retreat for the weekend and this cabin on Leesville Lake was the perfect get away. The house is nestled on a woodsy hillside in a lake house community. The beach was a short walk away, but we opted to rent a boat for the day and explore the vast lake. The house is beautifully done with loads of recent updates which make it simplistically modern. We spent most of our time in the kitchen and dining room area which was great for talking and grubbing. The kitchen was not fully loaded, so if you require particular items for cooking you may want to bring those along. The two decks make for nice bird watching and star gazing. We happened to visit while a meteor shower was happening, so we grabbed the antigravity reclining chairs on the deck and enjoyed the view. We also took advantage of the grill for dinner, and the fire pit for late night s'mores. No TV here, but none is needed if you simply take in the surroundings. We found that cell phone reception went in and out during our stay. Overall we had a great visit and would do it again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. I am constantly updating the house to make the stays as nice as possible. I thought I had everything in the kitchen that I had at home, so let me know what else I could use and I wood be happy to bring it down. In addition I'm looking at getting a signal booster from Verizon.

It's diamond in the rough.

We were glad the weekend we selected was cool, the window unit would not have been sufficient for cooling the house in warmer weather. We enjoyed the space and the new lower deck, however additional outdoor seating would have been nice. The beds were comfortable, the linens were plenty, the kitchen was well stocked. We couldn't find a broom and the rechargeable broom vac didn't work well.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. There are actually 2 air conditioning units in the house. One is downstairs and the other is upstairs. When both units are set and work in unison the house is very comfortable even when it gets hot outside. Since the deck was just built, I have been looking for the right outdoor furniture. For the short term, there are 3 hanging chairs, 2 zero gravity chairs and 5 foldable chairs in the meantime. The rechargeable vac has been replaced with a more powerful upright vacuum, and there is a broom in the Laundry closet or in the closet under the steps. I will make sure it stays in the Laundry closet from now on.

Nicely decorated, comfy beds, beautiful and quiet location!

  • 5 of 5

Spent a family weekend with my two adult sons and their girlfriends. The house is nicely decorated and had everything we needed, and then some! The kitchen is well equipped and the beds were very comfy! Steve was great to deal with and gave detailed instructions and descriptions of the property. The lake and private beach area are convenient and the water was perfect for kayaking. We were a bit surprised to not have cell service on our AT&T phones, but the Verizon network did pick up around the house. The lack of cell service actually made our stay more fun and relaxing, so we didn't mind at all! We will be visiting again soon and hopefully often!!
