As a base, it is ideal for those wishing to visit the sites of London. The great public transport links will take you to the heart of the Capital in a mere 20 minutes, yet the peaceful nature of Crouch End will ensure a calm place to retreat back to after a long day of sightseeing. Relax in these beautiful surroundings and experience what it is like to live as a true Londoner.

Homely, clean, spacious and sylishly furnished, your stay here will be one of luxury. Warm and welcoming, the flat boasts high ceilings, oak flooring, and an array of classic Victorian architectural details. Large sash windows pour sunlight into the glorious reception room. Enjoy a meal at the dining table in the bay window overlooking the lush greenery of the front garden. Snuggle up on the sofa with a good book, or relax in front of a film from the choice of DVDs. On a cold winter’s night, enjoy the warmth and glow of the open fire.

The apartment is fully equipped with all the conveniences of the modern world. This includes a large screen tv with Virgin Media cable channels, DVD player with selection of films and box-sets, fiber optic wifi, Bowers and Wilkins speaker system to play your favourite tracks, automatic central heating, washing machine with dryer and drying rack, steam iron and ironing board, and a fully equipped kitchen, complete with fridge, freezer, gas hob, oven, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. The benefit of staying in a London ‘village’ such as Crouch End, is that you have all amenities collected in one area, and right on your doorstep too. A two minute stroll down the road from the apartment is an array of local supermarkets, independent restaurants, traditional Victorian pubs, quirky cafes and boutique shops, should you wish to unwind away from the city centre. The area is not short of green open spaces and woodlands too, and for a bit of culture there are fringe theatres close by, cinemas to catch the latest films, even a Palace (although not of royalty), not to mention one of the most famous comedy stores in the world right at the end of the road.

London is a huge city encompassing far more than just the historic central area of the West End and the City. Away from the heart of the capital many of the old villages engulfed by the tide of urban expansion have survived to form fascinating and attractive suburbs. Crouch End is one of these, and surrounding this is Muswell Hill to the north, Hampstead and Highgate to the west, and Islington to the south. A visit to these local areas can really complement a trip to London.

Arriving from abroad, Heathrow airport is a direct tube ride to Finsbury Park (local underground station), which makes it the easiest and cheapest to get here. Gatwick is also a quick train ride away with links to Kings Cross station, only two tube stops away from the apartment. City Airport and Stansted are also easily accessible.

Being only 20 minutes away from St Pancras International Railway Station, makes getting to and from Europe on the Eurostar super quick and easy. With train tickets from £69 return, you could even hop over to Paris for the day!

  • The bathroom has a traditional Victorian enamelled white bath, with matching sink and toilet. There is a separate shower unit with very good water pressure. Fluffy white cotton towels and bath mats are provided.

  • The peaceful location means you will be assured of the perfect night's sleep. The bedroom is located at the back of the property, so no traffic noise. The large double bedroom has a superking (180cm x 200cm) bed with sumptuous pocket sprung mattress, goosedown duvet and pillows, and egyptian crisp white cotton bedding for maximum comfort during your stay. There is a large wardrobe in the room with ample hanging space, and a large full length mirror. A bedside table is provided on either side of the bed with side lamps.

Absolutely Perfect

There are many reasons to love this beautiful apartment. First, the listing accurately portrays its many features, but it's even lovelier than the pictures can show. You will feel like you are living in an Architectural Digest photo shoot, rich with architectural detail and pitch-perfect style. Everything is sparkling clean and in excellent working order. The owner is helpful, very nice, and easy to contact. Crouch End is a lovely spot - quiet, yet lively and filled with its own charm. Weary from a full day of London fun, we'd ride the tube home, eagerly anticipating our return to our beautiful flat. Public transportation is a breeze. (Americans, you can't imagine how great the bus and tube work well together!) Local pubs are close by. The Blue Legume serves fine breakfasts and lunches, and it's right down the block. After renting many Homeaway apartments in six different countries, I feel confident to say this apartment is in the very top category of excellence. We cannot wait to return!

A Picture-Perfect Home Away from Home

Every part of my stay at this peaceful flat was perfect, from my first communication with the owner throughout each day of my two-weeks there. The owner is a warm, smart, customer-service oriented person who is equally and impressively talented at home decorating. As you can see from the photos, the flat is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. The colors and furnishings are warm and cozy. The flat, which had everything I needed during my stay, is also in a great location. Just a short walk to shops, grocery stores, restaurants and various bus stops. Plus I bet that you'll enjoy breakfast as much as I did at the round dining table in the lounge, which offers a friendly spot to start your day. When I return to London, I will definitely stay at this flat. Give it a try. You will be very happy with your choice.

amazing flat in a great location

I've stayed several times in this beautiful flat in the heart of crouch end and it is always a pleasurable stay. The colour scheme is very soothing, the fireplace and sofa in the living room make it very comfortable, the bed is huge and the bathtub too! Overall, my favourite place to stay in London. Crouch End is one of the best neighbourhoods in the city, great shops, great food and charming people. We'll come again (and again!)

Ticks all the boxes.

This is the third successive year in which we have stayed in Sarah's lovely apartment. We visit our son and his family each year and we always feel totally at home in this apartment. There is a fastidious attention to detail and the 'French atmosphere' is always evident. A beautifully comfortable bed with top bed linen provides the basis for a good nights sleep and the tastefully designed bathroom is always stocked with bath salts and bath foam. The kitchen is well stocked for a holiday apartment and Australian wine was supplied for us Australians!

The loungeroom is of generous proportions and once again both comfortable and beautifully decorated including a lovely vase of flowers.

Full marks to Sarah, our gracious and welcoming hostess for continuing to maintain her high standards over the years we have been coming.

Absolutely lovely flat

This is a wonderful flat on a quiet residential street. The host was most welcoming and hospitable -- beautiful flowers and flat is decorated in peaceful colors. Flat has lots of natural light, lovely linens and comfortable bed, fully furnished kitchen and open spacious living room. Great location, easy to get to central London. Very pleased with my stay.

Where do you live?

Spacious and Well Appointed Flat in North London

We spent 2 weeks in this flat in May/June 2017. We normally stay in the South Kensington or the Earl's Court area so this was an opportunity to explore a new area for us.The flat was as advertised: spacious, well furnished and equipped and bright with large windows. Sarah is very responsive to questions and adds nice little touches such as fresh flowers in the living room. It is on a quiet street in Crouch End, a 5 minute walk to shops and bus stop. The high street is interesting with lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and bakeries.

It's about a 10 minute bus ride to the Finsbury Park underground station which is served by the Piccadilly and Victoria lines. Train service is good on both lines and it's about 15 -20 minutes to central London.

As some other reviewers have commented, you can sometimes hear other people in the building and children in the back garden, but this is part of apartment living and was not a big problem for us.

All in all a great place and after a busy day in the hectic environment of central London, this is a relaxing place to return to at the end of the day.
