Thank you for the rent of your condo, I had family come to galveston with me and we had a great time. It was so nice to just sit on the couch and enjoy visiting with one another, not like a motel where you sit on the beds and talk. We go to galveston once a year to schiltterbahn with my karate group. Hope to get with you next year and rent your condo again.

It was just what we needed. It was just me and my adult boys that just wanted to get away for the weekend and it fit us. The only complaint if any was the fold out couch wasn't to great to sleep on but I haven't slept on one yet that is. So I highly recommend this stay to any one that doesnt want to pay too much.

You get what you pay for...

This was a good example of you get what you pay for. For the price, I admit I had low expectations. However, it didn't even meet those low expectations.

First the positives:

-The price

-The booking, check in, keys process was easy

-Location was good... Decent water view, walkable to a few restaurants

-Facility was well maintained, good heated pool, enough parking

Now for the negatives:

-Very dated, tired decor

-Poor quality linens (small threadbare towels, cheap and/or old bed linens)

-Old TVs

-a lot of rusted out fixtures/vents and water stained wood cabinets

I can forgive these negatives given the price.

However, the reason I gave it a low rating was that the place is in desparate need of a very deep cleaning. It was frankly so gross that I didnt want to walk around barefoot. It may have been superficially cleaned (counters wiped, toilet cleaned, towels washed), but that is all I will give it credit for. The grout that was originally white (you can see parts on the tile baseboard that are still white) in the bathroom was black. The wood floors in the kitchen had a film of something over them. The inside of the microwave looked unsafe. Most importantly, there was a lot of black looking mold in the bathroom. I will add pictures if I can figure out how to do it.

I apprecaite the low price, but I would hope to find a good, clean rental, regardless of how much I paid.

Size expectation was met, unit was dirty and A/C doesn't work

Property is basically as described. It is small but has beds to sleep 5-6, it is close to all the big Galveston attractions, as well as the beach. It is dated, but that is ok. We weren't looking for anything fancy or large. We love a balcony and the balcony was great. As far as location and size it definitely met our expectations. However, the unit was dirty and the A/C didn't work. When we arrived I immediately checked the beds as I always do when we travel. The master seemed clean but the 2 bunk beds had no flat sheet, only a fitted, and there was a wrapper, some kind of grit (possibly from the ceiling), and stains on the fitted sheets. The fold out had the same issue. Very rumpled sheets that had stains/were dirty and had obviously not been changed prior to our stay. Since this is where my children were to sleep, I immediately stripped the beds and looked for extra sheets. There weren't any so we called Mary. She was great about it. She comped us the first nights rent and immediately sent someone to change the linens. In the mean time I also got the vacuum out of the master bedroom and tried to vacuum the floor as the same grit that was in the beds was also all over the hallway floor. The wheels kept falling off the vacuum making it incredibly difficult to try and clean. I also found a bottle of windex under the bathroom sink and wiped down all the door jambs as well as the walls in the bathroom and kitchen and the drawers in the bedroom because they had fingerprint smudges, general dirt and grime, and some kind of red staining on the walls. Most of it came off with a simple wipe down. Pretty obvious the unit was not well maintained as far as cleaning goes.

When we first entered we also noticed the bedroom window had been left open and there was a musty/stale smell to the unit. We closed the window and turned on the A/C. After the cleaning and linen issues we left to go down to Pleasure Pier. We came back about 5 hours later and the A/C was still running but the room was no cooler than it was when we left. We reopened the bedroom window and the sliding glass door. The breeze cooled the unit off and we were able to sleep with it that way. We didn't bother to contact Mary about the A/C because it wasn't worth the trouble and we were comfortable enough leaving the window/sliding door open. However, if you were to stay in summer I'm sure it would be miserably hot with no proper A/C and no ceiling fans.

The condo was as advertised -- a bargain for the weekend.

Not bad for the price!

Let me start by saying you get what you pay for... For the price it was fine. The first thing you should know is, if you don't rent from the actual "Casa Del Mar" facility you don't recieve towel service, new sheets or assistants with a lock out, you would have to contact whom ever you rented from to get assistance. Now about the room, overall it was somewhat clean. The sheets and blankets did not give off the since that they were clean. Too many spots an which my husband and I are still debating what it actually was... Needless to say we quickly learned about the Landry room and cost. Glad it was there a dollar to wash and a dollar to dry. The stovetop was pretty dirty, maybe a thick layer of dust. The kitchen floor between the sink and stove something white was there. Also, please note beachfront is loosely used in the advertisement. You will have to look past the parking lot and traffic before you find the beach. Other than that the place was ok... So after I cleaned it as best I could the first day there ... The rest went fine. Also, the room is very dated and worn down looking. Please note I only took the time to write this because people should know the whole truth.... Sometimes pictures and advisements just LIE!
