About Marina

Me and my husband live in the beautiful country between Florence and Siena with our Great Dane and a cat . Our two children 'left the nest': the girl works and lives in Florence, the boy studies and works near London. Rent the apt. gives us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and find new friends.

Marina purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Marina chose Florence

We bought this little apt. in 2011 and we renewed it at all in 2012. We belive that now it is cosy just like a nest. We love to share it with tourists who like to visit Florence and to find peace and calm after a day of sightseen. The district is amazing, full of life, with the near Market of S.Ambrogio and many restaurants and bars. It is out from the tourists crowd, but in a walking distance from the main Monuments. It is inside the restricted area for traffic, but there are paying parking nearby.

What makes this apartment unique

We had many guests many of them came back, many became friends. All of them feel at home, because the apt. is cosy, comfortable, well equipped, bright and quiet. All of them love the near Market of S.Ambrogio, because they can find all kind of goods and sellers are very friendly.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Marina's apartment was absolutely wonderful. A perfect mix of luxury and home comforts. The location near Santa Croce is fantastic. You are within a 10-15 minute walk of just about everywhere, but you are on a street away from crowds and tourists. As someone who is very hygiene conscious, i was very pleased with the cleanliness of the apartment when I arrived and found that the luxuries of the apartment (air conditioning, wifi, and the spectacular view) were all top notch. The bed, like all he furniture, was very comfortable, clean, and inviting. The third floor walk-up can be tough if you have heavy luggage, so just be prepared. The view of Sanata Maria Del Fiore completely makes it worth it though. In the vicinity of the apartment you have a supermarket, a Vodafone store, several pizzerias, great bars, and a lovely beauty salon just doors away. Communicating with Marina was very easy and pleasant. She is kind and very conscientious about responding to e-mails quickly and as helpfully as possible. I will definitely be staying at this apartment the next time I am in Florence. The only down-side to the apartment is that you won't want to leave.

Romantic, comfortable and convenient

  • 5 of 5

The location of this apartment is great. You can pretty much walk everywhere. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The wine in the suite was very good and the little shop where you can get refills is close by and really reasonable. Marina is a very pleasant hostess and goes out of her way to do little extras. We highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay here again.

Great Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week here at the end of September and were very pleased. The pictures provide an accurate description. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom up to date, and the kitchen compact but convenient. We ate in four of our seven nights. I loved being able to see the glimpse of the Duomo and Santa Croce from the upper floor. We also appreciated the wonderful bottle of wine that Marina had waiting for us. It was one of the best wines we had. Definitely visit the little wine shop a few blocks away for a refill.

The apartment was stocked with the most basic necessities, but there is a grocery store within a few blocks for picking up other items. Also, it is conveniently located not far from the Sant' Ambrogio farmers market, which is a real treat. The restaurant that is next door, La Cucina del Ghianda, was amazing. It is incredibly inexpensive but the food was the best we had on our trip.

We truly enjoyed our stay in Florence among the rooftops.

Beautiful apartment, easy walking everywhere!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this apartment based on a recommendation from a friend who stayed here last summer. We loved it! The apartment was clean, very well equipped, with all the dishes and cookware you would need; small washing machine came in very handy. I also appreciated not having to buy a ton of supplies- there was laundry detergent, dish soap, etc. A/C worked well for the extremely hot weather we had. I also loved that we could walk everywhere we needed to go.. usually in no more than ten minutes. It was a nice, quiet apartment. Bear in mind, there is no elevator- make sure you can handle 40+ stairs.

Florence away from the hustle and bustle

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the apartment 7 nights. Marina's description of the apartment is very accurate. Like previous reviewers we also enjoyed coming back to the beautiful light filled upper room for our lunch and dinner each day. I cooked all but 2 of our meals, the kitchen was compact but worked well. Marina was there to welcome us on our first day, explained apartment fully. She offered to book our taxi to the station for final day, which she did, making it a relaxed departure also. We were given all the information about the neighbourhood and Florence that we required. The only small negative, and I did mention it to Marina, that in areas the top room was a bit dusty(an issue for my allergy). Can recommend restaurant a couple of doors down, La Cucina del HIANDA at #85r- 95r. Lovely people, well cooked food, explained the menu and offered wine suggestions. So a lovely week in Florence, amazing sites and comfortable accommodation.

Cozy & Quiet!

  • 5 of 5

I loved this apartment - it was in a good location near restaurants and supermarket. Marina was available via phone or text and responded promptly to my questions. The apartment was equipped with pretty much anything one may need to get started. Marina left a bottle of wine for me to enjoy during my stay. As a female traveling alone I felt very safe in the apartment since the door has an amazing locking system and the building is only accessed with a key separate key to the front door. I would definitely return to this apartment whenever I return to Florence.

Romantic apartment with rooftop views

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful location in Florence, away from the tourist crowds, but convenient to the major sites in Florence. Apartment is exactly as pictured, nice 2-story space with lovely rooftop views. Many reasonable restaurants near by. We especially liked Natolino on Borgo Albizi, went there twice for dinner. The apartment had everything you need including a nice washing machine which we availed ourselves of.

My husband accidentally left his favorite hat inside when we left on our final day. Marina went far above and beyond to get it back to us. She sent it on to our next stop in Venice, but I had given her the wrong address, so she got it back again! It finally arrived back in the US just today. She certainly did her utmost to reunite us with the missing hat. we can not thank her enough.

Would definitely recommend this fantastic apt in lovely Florence.

Thanks again, Marina!
