3 Air Cond. Beds, 3.5 Baths, Wonderful Pool,
This is an Irma Survivor. The villa was constructed to withstand a Category 5 Hurricane. We now have electricity, however, our mortgage co. First Bank has failed to offer us any kind of arrangement that would allow us to continue renting. Consequently, they have thrown us under the bus due to lack of tourist trade. Mortgage payments and late fees are preventing us from accepting reservations.
This is a fantastic time to visit Tortola; the weather in the winter and spring months is absolutely superb! The outside living area and the gorgeous tiled pool with its extensive stonework terraced veranda overlook are very private, soothing and picturesque.
Newly constructed and spaciously comfortable, Sage Mountain Villa has three air conditioned bedrooms and three and a half baths. The home is on two levels and is completely screened. This home was created by the well-known BVI architect Michael Arneborg. We let him design it to his high standards. Integration of architecture, interior strength and innovative design was his fundamental approach. Michael Arneborg was widely considered to have been the premiere architect of fine family homes on Tortola, in the West Indian style.
Sage Mountain Villa is located on the West End of Tortola, an area that has become one of the most upscale sections of Tortola. Along with yacht chartering and supplying, there is interesting shopping available in Soper's Hole Marina. The West End area has numerous fine restaurants. The island's most popular beaches are just a short drive; Long Bay Beach, Smuggler’s Cove, Cane Garden and others. The villa has 3000 sq ft. of beautiful living area and is on one half acre of beautifully, tropical landscaped property. Sage Mountain Villa enjoys sweeping ocean vistas and captivating ever changing views of the sea and islands beyond. It is on an elevation of 450 feet and is located in Romney Park. The villa is a short drive to the Roadtown Ferry Terminal. Restaurants are equally close; BananaKeet Café, The Sugar Mill, Long Bay Beachfront Restaurant and new to the area in Little Apple Bay, D' Coalpot BVI to name just a few. For the diving enthusiast, Blue Water Divers at Nanny Cay Marina is a short distance toward Roadtown.
Open and appealing, Sage Mountain Villa entry level has soaring cathedral ceilings, with a grand, attractive great room and dining area. Screened glass sliders open out to the front balcony and the splendid covered West Indian veranda with 2 ceiling fans. The well thought out flow of rooms assures privacy and convenience for a vacationing party of up to six.
The spacious fully equipped kitchen with 2 ceiling fans will handle meals large and small. The kitchen opens to the veranda pool area. Flowing Quartz counter-tops, dishwasher and an array of modern appliances are in a light and bright setting with a fantastic view of the Sir Frances Drake Channel. A convenient half bath is tucked just around the entry foyer and a full laundry is available adjacent the kitchen. This villa is equipped with a water purification / filtration system.
The air conditioned master bedroom with cathedral ceiling is spacious and airy. It resides on the main level in privacy away from the central activity of the home. Through screened glass sliders, it opens up to the front balcony where picturesque vistas will capture much attention. The ensuite master bath is finished in stone travertine and has an over-sized walk-in shower.
A staircase leads around to the lower level and there are two large, bright air conditioned bedrooms each with an ensuite full bath in stone travertine. Screened glass sliders open out to a glorious colonnade surrounded by a captivating array of colorful floral, Caribbean plantings and more dramatic Vistas. Teak and wicker furniture accented with bright color enhance the Caribbean flair. The home is wired for Wi-Fi, cable TV, an audio system and local phone.
Beautiful with high cathedral ceilings, the inviting covered veranda looks out to the sea and enjoys the fresh trade wind breezes. It is conveniently accessed from the kitchen and living room. Just beyond the veranda is a gorgeous expansive coral stone sun terrace with a sparkling salt water pool system and lounges to help soak up the sun. This is a wonderful and relaxing setting for island time activities and casual dining.
Sage Mountain Villa is a comfortable and serene vacation home. There is easy access to the beaches and island activities. Time spent here will be cherished and memorable.

Wonderful Home in Tortola
We spent a week at Sage Mountain Villa and it was perfect! The home is furnished very nicely and has everything one needs for a memorable vacation. Amazing views of the water, lovely fauna and flowers surrounding the home, fully furnished 3 bedrooms that feel like home, not a rental :) . The kitchen had everything one needed to prepare meals and serve in style.
The covered patio, grill, and pool area were wonderful to enjoy after a day of beach exploring. Plenty of quality seating areas and tables for everyone. There was a mid week cleaning service to change out towels/bedlinens/general cleaning which was appreciated.
One of my favorite accents was the Tiffany lamps that were found in each room- unique, quality, and a reflection the owners truly have this home furnished like a home, not a rental property.
We talk about returning to Tortola in the future with friends!
Home is very close to beaches (Smugglers cove was our favorite) and many very nice restaurants, so while the home is an private oasis on the mountain, it's very close to 'attractions'. 10 minute drive on average.
Beautiful views and fantastic service
A group of friends and I stayed for 6 nights in this beautiful property up in the mountain. The views were gorgeous, everything was comfortable. The drive up is not for the fainthearted but its worth it! The service was great as well.
Stunning views and comforatble breezes
This home is a gem with everything you need for a pleasant and comfortable stay. The villa was immaculate and we really enjoyed the monster gas grill. Great views and cooling breezes added to the enjoyment. Thank you for sharing your home.
Amazing view amenity filled villa
We really enjoyed our stay in this villa. The villa is clean and well appointed. We found everything we needed around the kitchen and details like beach towels and chairs made for great day tripping. Smugglers cove is a must see beach. The pool was amazing and we spent a lot of time just relaxing in the outdoor area, which has a beautiful view. The villa is in a quiet residential area where you typically only hear the local roosters. The agency was very great to coordinate the details of our stay and even met us to drive up the first night in the dark.
This was our third time staying in the house and probably my 10/11th time in Tortola. My wife has been there over 20 times. This time we stayed 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had another couple with us who had been to Tortola a couple of times but never in a house. They also thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The house is wonderful and is quite comfortable and extremely well maintained. The layout of the bedrooms leaves everyone in complete privacy. We had a problem with the first car but Sharlene in the management company who we had rented the car thru took charge and we had a replacement car within an hour. All good credit to Sharlene and the car rental company Dedees. I highly recommend him also. All 4 of us are already talking about coming back for a repeat again next year. This time we used the pool probably more than the other two times. Highly recommend the house and the management company
Even more wonderful the second time!
We had such a phenomenal experience at Sage Mountain Villa on our first visit that we didn't hesitate to book again. The house is top notch with every amenity you could want. Sharlene and Amin were on call and ready to help with whatever we needed. We booked cars with Denzel Kline who met us at the ferry and were friendly and helpful.
Our 3 sons (ranging from 17-25) love the villa, the "authentic" experience of the BVI (limited tourists, no chain hotels), and the easy access to beaches and other adventures. This year my husband and sons experienced scuba diving the incredible coral reefs around Tortola with Blue Water Divers out of Nanny Cay (the oldest family owned dive operation in the BVI - impressive team who managed a range of needs with humor and patience). The instructors/dive masters were fantastic, and the diving was memorable for all levels. They got amazing underwater GoPro video of turtles, parrotfish, barracuda and more, and after a great day of diving, walked down the boardwalk to the beach cafe/bar (Peglegs) for fish sandwiches and beer. For $10/pp we could enjoy the Nanny Cay resort pool and beach - worth every penny.
On another day, we split the group and 2 of us hiked up the access road from the villa driveway to the top of the mountain to Tingalayo (a small resort) and found an amazing life-size Buddha sculpture that looks north over the beautiful Tortola beaches to Jos Van Dyke, then spent the rest of the day relaxing around the beautiful pool at the villa, sunning and swimming before grilling up a shrimp dinner for the diving crew.
And this visit, we found Smugglers Cove - an experience we'll never forget - a "hidden" pristine beach in the West End where we practically had the beach to ourselves to snorkel and sun for the afternoon. If you go, don't miss the chance to belly up to Nigel's Beach Bar for grilled fish and famous Painkillers (the local island drink). Nigel is a one of a kind, assisted by his cousin Andrew, a retired island police officer with stories to tell. The vibe is low-key and fun with boaters dropping anchor and swimming to shore to grab a bite and visit with Nigel.
We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner for a second year at The Sugar Mill, a beautiful candlelit experience with incredible local food in a renovated stone mill, with waves crashing in the background.
The weather was incredible, the house was absolutely beautiful, and the experience unparalleled. We'll be back!
