Spent several days at this property on a ladies' trip. This is in a beautiful gated golf community, and is very charming and extremely clean. Appreciated the safety and beauty of the area. We were able to park 2 cars in the garage and 2 cars in front of the garage with no problem. This is in the mountains and some streets are steep, but had no problem walking either direction from the condo - and what a beautiful place to walk. The back of the condo is high off the ground, very private and feels as though one is sitting in a tree house - perfect. The screened porch runs the full length of the family/dining room. This will definitely be my choice again for a respite in Flat Rock/Hendersonville.
This is a delightful property. The pictures don't really do it justice - so homelike, clean, warm and comfortable. We were two couples, who wanted to have a weekend catch up, and this home was perfect. We cooked for ourselves, sat on the deck, walked around the neighborhood and rejoiced in the silence.
Our only niggling complaint was that a fuse blew on Saturday and we tried to contact the agent, who to this day has not responded. The agent takes a huge fee and one might suppose that they would do something for that. We ended up mending the fuse ourselves, which took time. It was lucky that one of us is an engineer.
The actual nightly rent is very reasonable for such a great property, but the add-on fees are exorbitant. Not only was the agent unresponsive, there was a list of things we had to do before leaving the property including washing the towels. And at that point we found that the dryer was full of a previous guest's drying. For the high fee charged, we would expect attention to detail.
House - 5*. Agent and fees 3*
My husband & I were in need of lodging for R&R & to attend a niece's wedding at Camp Wayfarer. "Little House" is a sensational townhouse! The beautiful & tastefully decorated interior offers a tranquil luxury vacation! It matches the on-line photos! We did not require the second bedroom, the King size master bedroom suite was soooo comfortable! The tree lined screened deck & beautiful interior were the main reason I chose this property. The driveway is short but.we parked our rental car at an angle when it was not in the spacious garage. The pantry's food staples (salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar, etc.) & everything in the kitchen was greatly appreciated. We used the little food cooler everyday when out & about exploring. I didn't cook but easily could have! We used the washer/dryer daily; the provided laundry soap & dishwasher detergent was a perk! We failed to see the coffee pot filters (pantry) initially so used a provided coffee pod & then began using our own coffee on day # 2. We hiked at nearby DuPont Forest, Carl Sandburg's Estate & 1 evening around Kenmure Country Club! This was a perfect stay, if we were golfer's--what a paradise plus! We enjoyed the restaurants in Flat Rock & Hendersonville, it's a 30 min drive to Asheville. Everything about this mountain home was perfect! We hope to return, it would also be perfect for a "girl friend" get away! Thank you for this opportunity!
Pros: Very clean and well maintained. Bedrooms were very spacious and the master was great; including the master bath! The screened porch was nice too! The guys at the entrance gate were friendly and helpful.
Cons: VERY steep grade up to the house; 15 to 20% approx grade. NO driveway; ONLY parking was in the garage and our Ford Flex barely fit. NO room for two cars. Also, this is a duplex, not a single family dwelling. NO yard was a disappointment; the path down the side of the house to the back was blocked off with a rope and sign. This is not a location for a family with children or tweens. Would I stay here again, probably not.
Located within the Gated Private Membership of Kenmure Golf and Country Club.
