Thanks for your kind attention and have a nice navigation!
Had a lovely holiday and the local beach is gorgeous! Great food in the area and the local people is really friendly too! House was clean and in a great location. Thanks!
The villa is situated in an ideal location. Short stroll to beautiful beach with crystal clear water. We enjoyed swimming early morning before breakfast (lovely croissants bought locally) days on the beach and evening swims. The villa is very well equipped for a self catering holiday. The outdoor shower was great to use after visits to the beach or for an instant cool down! The local shops are within walking distance and supplied everything we needed. Lovely man selling fruit from his truck, the most beautiful figs we have ever tasted!
The owner, Guisy was full of suggestions about places to visit. We visited Lecce, a beautiful historic city, Santa Maria di Leuca (right at the southern tip where the adriatic and ionian seas meet),Torre San Giovanni (more swimming), Punta della Suina(lovely snorkelling and swimming)
Grazie mille Guisy for the local cakes and beautiful tomatoes, grapes and melon and the opportunity to explore the beautiful Salento area.

This apartment occupies the ground floor of a 2-story villa, and comprises of parking facilities (gold dust!), a nice spacious terrace and outside shower, great when you return from the beach, which is less than 5 minutes walk away. The inside is spacious and functional, with a nice kitchen and lounge, which includes an indoor barbecue. The 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were perfect for our family of 4. The location is very convenient, just outside the picturesque town of Gallipoli. Baia Verde, where the villa is situated, includes a small selection of essential shops, including a great tavola calda, which sells delicious freshly cooked snacks, dishes and pizza for either lunch or dinner. For eating out you need to go into Gallipoli, and Giusy, the owner of the villa will provide plenty of suggestions for restaurants in different parts of Puglia. Giusy has been extremely helpful and always available, on hand for any queries. We used the villa as a base from which we visited many parts of Puglia and we had a wonderful time.
This was the third summer that we spend in this lovely house. The area is perfect for us with 4 children, The owner is fantastic, helpful and at your service 24 hours aday. Good tips of how to best enjoy Salento.
The house is clean and well provided, it is spacy and have a lovely Patio where you can relax in the shadow and we always eat there.
The garden makes the house feel private, it is close to food stores, pizzerias and bakery.
The beach is fantastic not to mention the water!!
It is perfect for families who want a relaxing holiday.
The villa is in a really good location with easy access to the beach that is only a short walk away. The villa was clean yet basic. A welcome pack with basics like toilet paper and washing up liquid would have been nice after a day of travelling. If it was a family going, i would make sure that bathing towels are packed as the towel supplied are very small, and the advertised washing machine is a table top small version, only good for light use if any. The pation furniture could do with updating as most of the chairs are starting to rust on the joints and could be dangerous if left another season.
The local supermarkets are very good with all the items that you need, and the local restaurants are good and not expensive. All in all it is a fantastic area to travel around and any small niggles with the villa could not even begin to taint your stay in this great part of the country.
Some friends told us about their holiday in a special area almost off the beaten tracks in Puglia, Italy, suggesting us the “carribean” sea of Gallipoli because it was a perfect idea for our family bank holidays with two children (9 and 11), who wished to spend most of the day playing and swimming in a turquoise clear sea. Our expectations were totally fulfilled by the efficient directions of our guide, Giusy, who smartly contributed in order to provide a remarkable cultural track to our holiday and to make us feel home away from home in her elegant villa "Salento Sunset" near the beach. By the way, it was such a real unexpected pleasure for us to go to theatre in Southern Salento and to listen to the best known in UK amazing Benjamin Britten music. Even for my children it was an exciting experience watching, in the same background, other children performing the story of Babar, the elephant. Back to London, our friends joined us at Stansted Airport and we drove straight to the beautiful Suffolk coast just for extending our holiday a little more with a short escape to Aldeburgh, the place that inspired Britten’s life and work. This enjoyable overseas adventure happened to us last year but we still think most often of it and maybe we will repeat it some day.
