The house was beautifully decorated for Mati Gras, very charming, very clean and it was just a short bus or street car ride away from all the hotspots as well as an easy drive to the port and Marcelin is Great host. There were breakfast items as well as coffee (Huge for us). We had a group of 10 and had plenty of room! Will stay here again if we get a chance to get back to New Orleans. I highly recommend it!!

Everything you need and then some!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was amazing! We had just about anything we could have needed. The house was clean and beautiful. It has tons of historic charm. Practically next door to CVS and hop across the street for the best Chinese food at Green Tea. Great neighborhood with friendly people. We had no problem walking down the street at night with the kids. Just fabulous!

Everything was amazing from the start

  • 5 of 5

We had such an awesome time here. I would definitely recommend this house. It was big enough for my family of 10 and plenty more. Everything was provided for us (towels, wash cloths, complimentary breakfast ect). This is the place to stay if your traveling with a large family. Thanks Marceline's, we loved it!

A quiet oasis after a day of exploring

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 were very comfortable staying here. It was clean and quiet and knowing that Marcelin the owner was downstairs was a reassurance that if a problem should arise help was close at hand. Also for a mom that did a lot of driving around town sightseeing, the parking space was fantastic although street parking was always available as well. The location was convenient to a Roberts grocery right down Claiborne, Walgreens on the corner and easy access to main arteries leading all over the city. I had to take my husband to the convention center every morning and the round trip never took longer than a half hour. I was able to take the kids to City Park (10 minutes), Lafayette Cemetery (10 minutes), Hansens Sno Bliz (10 minutes)- you get the point. The beds are comfortable and plentiful plus lounging areas with plenty of t.v.'s for chilling after a long day. I was afraid the front porch being right on Napoleon would be too loud but it wasn't at all. It was nice to see New Orleans coming and going with a cup of coffee in the morning and a beer in the evening. We make it a point to stay in real authentic homes when we travel. We don't expect it to be just like home. We would hate it if it was. Marcelins was a great pick for us with all the comforts and necessities of home but with the unique touches that can only be found in real New Orleans and makes a visit here that much more memorable.
