Unbelievably perfect for us!

This property is wonderful. Between the floorplan, furniture, decor and being a few blocks from downtown it could not have been better.

sadly, mediocre

  • 2 of 5

I have stayed many times in telluride and this property was the least satisfactory. Unfortunately, it was the only property available with the number of rooms required. The location was nice at the end of town and the street was reasonably quiet. The major complaints were that the water was off when we arrived (maybe no one checks on the property before arrival?), the wall downstairs in one bedroom vibrates continually, likely due to the hydronic heat water circulation pump mounted on the wall. The downstairs bathtub/shower is slick enough to dump someone if you are not very cautious. The stars are also very slippery if you are wearing socks (and since you take off shoes at the bottom floor, you probably are). Although there are two fireplaces and a hot tub, none were functioning (even though the temp was in the mid 40s at night/morning, we were told that this stuff was off for the summer (every other place I have been in at this time provided fully functioning amenities). The dishwasher is coming out of the counter (made it interesting to load and start). On the top floor, although the bed was comfortable, the first morning I realized the bedding was coming apart all over the floor. Anyway, it just seems that for the amount paid, no one really cared about the property. I have rented mid August in Telluride 8 times (5 consecutively). Your mileage may vary.

Owner's Response: We're so sorry to hear of the complaints.I am particularly troubled because brand new appliances and linens were purchased just before the stay. I will have maintenance look into the dishwasher and housekeeping throw away any substandard bedding. My guess is that the water being off was an oversight from the installation of the appliances just two days prior to check-in. Our rental agreement clearly states that the hot tub is not available in the summer. This house is different from most other properties in Telluride in that the hot tub is located inside the house. We like to let the "hot tub room" dry out and take a rest before all the heavy use in the winter. We leave specific instructions for turning on the fireplaces, in frames, on each mantel. If they would not light, it seems likely that a simple call to maintenance to have the pilot light lit would have fixed the problem. This guest did not contact me or maintenance during the stay with any complaints. I therefore did not not have a chance to remedy any problems either with refunds or with repairs. For this 4-bedroom house in the town of Telluride, the guest paid a rate lower than for four rooms in the Montrose Super 8.

Beautiful, spacious, conveniently located home

  • 4 of 5

This home was larger than we needed but the fact it was pet-friendly was key. Beautifully appointed, conveniently located, and spacious. Two less favorable experiences: we phoned Leslie with a question our first night and never heard back from her (we stayed 3 nights). Window blind installers were also given access to the house during our stay, which I wasn't made aware of until after I'd paid. Otherwise, Telluride and its many outdoor experiences were fantastic and the property was very nice.

Nice House

  • 4 of 5

This Bachman Village house was a nice place to stay in Telluride. The neighborhood was developed in the 1980's but despite that the owner has done a great job of keeping the home clean and updated. It is very convenient to the grocery store as well as one of the many stops on the towns free bus system, "The Galloping Goose" which makes it easy to get anywhere you would like to go.

Great location, quick responsive management, large, comfortable home

  • 4 of 5

The location of the home worked great for our family. We were interested in biking out the door, walking into town and having a large enough living/dining space to hang out in. This home was perfect for that. Being close to Clark's Market turned out to be a benefit as we were mostly cooking with family and small children and could run over and purchase whatever we needed---and the market has been renovated and is very nice. The house was spacious and the large front entry was wonderful for shoes and stuff. I would suggest a BBQ for the home in the summer months. We used the tiny portable one on the back deck but it was to small and not efficient to cook with.

We did run into a water problem (broken valve that prevented water from heating and leak in the irrigation system) and I want to really commend the management for jumping right on it and working hard to get it fixed during weekend and evening hours. While it did cause us inconvenience, Leslie did everything possible to get it fixed and was wonderful about it.

I hope everyone enjoys the house as much as we did. Thank you.

Nice, but...

  • 3 of 5

The house was perfectly acceptable and clean, with the exception that the hot tub circulator pump blew before we even arrived. They couldn't replace it during our stay. The management company responded quickly and gave us a partial refund.

A big reason we chose the place was the hot tub in the first place, so that was kind of a bummer.
