Our home is on one of the 6 lakes in Emerald Lakes, Lower Deer Lake is the only natural lake in the community that was completely built by beavers and not man-made. On the far end of the lake is the beaver dam and to the left of our property are 2 intact beaver huts. Sometimes at dusk you may get a glimpse of a mom and her pup out for an evening swim. Even though our home is in a resort community, we are very secluded. We have 2 acres of land and we are the only home on the east side of the lake. You feel like you are away from it all, yet everything you need or want to do is still so close. There are deer, turkey, rabbits, foxes, beavers, ducks, geese and plenty of birds to keep you company. If you love nature, you'll love our home.
The home was nice and clean. The dock area was a little overgrown. The pond is nice for fishing, we caught Bluegills, Yellow Perch and Bass. There is a baitshop in the basement of a home about 10 min away. We used the community lake for swimming, they have a beach area with tables and restrooms. We used the paddleboat to explore the pond and even used it for fishing. We rented the home due to the central location. The went whitewater rafting, horseback riding, toured Pocono Raceway for free, and took a train ride. Jim Thorpe is about forty minutes away and it is a great town for sightseeing and shopping. We enjoyed good weather which made things nice. There was plenty of room for the nine of us. It is located very close to the interstate so there is traffic noise. We didn't see any deer on the property but there were plenty around the development. There is a weird stick shelter in the woods in the side yard. The kids came up with creepy stories about it. The kids enjoyed the arcade style video game and pinball machine. On the last day we had breakfast at the Jubilee and that was very good. It was a nice relaxing trip.
A little about the group: I booked this house for my buddies 30th birthday. It was a total of nine guys staying at the house from Wednesday thru Sunday.
Owner: From the very beginning, Joe has been available for a quick question by either a call, text or an email. This guy takes great care of the property!
House: This house is gorgeous inside and out. The great room has plenty of space with a nice tv and seating. The bedrooms are all really well decorated and comfortable beds. The game room downstairs is awesome, the arcade and ping pong table were perfect.
The deck has plenty of space and also has a nice propane grill with all the necessary tools.
The property is well maintained, plenty of space for corn hole or other activies. The lake is perfect for kayaking or canoeing (He has a nice paddle boat, extra). Bring a rod, some nice largemouth bass and sun fish. The dock has plenty of space to put out some chairs and relax and watch the stars.
Transportation: We are able to easily get Ubers to pick us up and get us to the casino, brewery, etc.
The linen service was well worth it, plenty of extra blankets.
We spent Memorial Day Weekend at this beautiful home with 10 family and friends getting away for a relaxing weekend it's a tradition we do every year. This was the first time we stayed at this cabin and it was better than advertised. When you first walk in it takes your breath away. Everyone that was in our party were highly impressed.....and relaxed!! I can't say enough good things about the cabin, but if you want your looking for a gorgeous location to go along with a beautiful log cabin, look no further. Also Joe the owner was pleasent to deal with and he made sure we had everything we needed, and I just wanted to thank Joe for sharing his beautiful home with us, and for caring to all our needs. I highly recommend this property as do ALL 10 men I traveled with. Hope to visit again.
3 families (6 adults/4 kids) stayed for 3 nights at this property and LOVED it. The rec room basement is absolutely perfect for the kiddos to play while the adults visit upstairs. The dock and gazebo are amazing. We probably caught (and released) 60 fish so bring your poles! Highly recommend this property.
We stayed for a golf trip Friday and Saturday night and everyone had a great time. The house is well kept and has a great outdoor area. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.
I wanted to do something special for my husband’s 70th birthday that included our children and grandchildren. I made the perfect choice when I decided to rent this cabin for a weekend. We were even able to keep this a surprise for my husband. Our three children and our 5 grandchildren all agreed that the entire weekend was a wonderful way to celebrate this special occasion.
The house was lovely, comfy, clean, well stacked with all essentials, and enabled all of us--ages from 70 to 1--to find lots of things to do. The large family room enabled some of us to watch TV, play board games, or just enjoy conversation. The outside areas were well kept and the views beautiful. We ate most of our meals on the deck since there was lots of room at the large table and amble chairs for all of us. The children especially enjoyed the game room downstairs and the large outdoor area to play and run. My husband and I liked sitting outside enjoying the gorgeous scenery and watching our grandchildren play ball, make s’mores and even go on a boat ride on the lake. The kids also enjoyed fishing from the dock
I would recommend families large and small to rent this beautiful house for a weekend or longer. My family and I hope to visit this lovely home again. It is a wonderful place to make memories—memories that we will all remember fondly.
