Hi I am Sirry
Sigridur Jonsdottir purchased this house in 2114
Clean and very comfortable! We rented the entire house and it was perfect for our large family. The kitchen made it easy and affordable to have breakfast before heading out for a day of adventures. There is a nice coffee shop, bakery and grocery store within easy walking distance. Hafnarfjordur is a quaint, centrally located, walkable town. Reykjavik is just a15 minute drive.
Sirry, the host, was very easy to work with. She went out of her way to give us info and recommendations.
A group of nine of us stayed here for four nights. Sirry is very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The house is warm and comfortable. Transport to Reykjavik is fairly frequent and a nice journey. The Viking village which is a short walk away has a varied menu and the food is delicious. There is a cafe just across the road which does the best hot chocolate and breakfast if you should require it. I for one, will be returning!
We stayed as a family with 2 little kids in the family room for about a week...and had a very good time in Harbourfront and Iceland.
Room was clean and had more than we expected like milk, cereal and coffee.
Iceland is more expensive then europe or the usa, but staying here it became more reasonable because we were able to prepare some sandwiches or breafasts there...which did cost otherwise easily 10 euros x person.
the guestbook had lots of positive reviews,..dont know why nobody writes anything here...
but definitely come back again, thanks sirry!
We booked really last minute and this was a great pick. We got picked up from the airport early in the morning coming from NYC. The fee was 60 USD the Harbourfront is only about 30 minutes form the airport. The room was nice and clean and well equipped, wash basin tea maker, Cable TV with many American channels, VERY good bed, queen size, and comfortable!
The breakfast was perfect, hot and cold dishes with cereals and fresh fruits, just like a five star hotel. The owners are really attending and gave us good tips about where to go and what to see. The price was fair at 99 USD a night with breakfast for two. Overall a surprisingly good stay and we do recommend the Harbourfront!

I want to share the fantastic experience we had at the Harbourfront.
We were 16 persons who occupied the whole house for 9 nights.
We came in four cars, and there was always plenty of free parking.
The house was clean and neat with all the accessories you might need, such as dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Moreover, the beds were very comfortable!
The house is located at a square, next to the Hafnarfjörður museum and the restaurant “Gamla vínhúsið”. The museum is a “must see” and I can really recommend the restaurant.
We spent the days driving around in the south-west of Iceland, and enjoying the centre of Hafnarfjörður, with its shops and coffie shops.
Sirrý is an extraordinary host. With her, there is never a problem, just solutions.
I also would like to mention Sirrý‘s sister‘s home restaurant. If you want real Icelandic food in real Icelandic environment, this is what you are looking for! The whole group went there for leg of lamb and grilled salmon, and I still get water in my mouth when I think of this food...
We offer personal service with lots of tips and help. Ask us about everything you want and we will reply. We can drive you around, take for horseback riding, whale watching, to the Blue Lagoon or wherever you want to go. Here is a brief description of our nice little town. Hafnarfjörður is Iceland's third largest town, with a population of over 26,000. A progressive municipality that focuses on ensuring a family-friendly environment, Hafnafjörður provides exemplary services and supports a dynamic economy.
Hafnarfjörður´s local authority prioritises electronic services, providing residents and visitors with secure 24 hour internet access from all locations. This allows them to resolve issues or do business online at their own convenience.
Hafnafjörður's service center, located at Strandgata 6., is the gateway to all the town´s departments and institutions and is the simplest way to access information and services. The service center is open every working day between 08:00 and 16:00.
Hafnarfjörður endeavors to provide an efficient administrative system staffed by employees who, with their knowledge, care and dedication, are able to offer the best services available.
Hafnarfjörður's public administration is divided into two parts:
On the one hand, there is the political system. This consists of democratically elected municipal representatives who form the town council. They are also members of the committees the council appoints in accordance with Hafnarfjörður municipality's by-laws and the council's minutes.
On the other hand, there is the civil service system, i.e. the recruited managers of the municipality, with the Mayor acting at their head. The Mayor is the town´s managing director and is hired by the town council. He is responsible both for implementing the council´s decisions and, together with the executive board, for the town's executive and financial management.
Hafnarfjörður is a unique town with an extraordinary history, where daily life and culture thrives in the middle of an old lava field. The town had a population of approximately 1400 when it was granted municipal status. Now, a century later, the population has exploded. However, the town retains its small-town air, its rural aura and its heart - which is not surprising given that the it prides itself on the largest unbroken neighborhood of corrugated iron-clad timber houses in Iceland.
Hafnarfjörður, however, is not just an old town; it is also thriving, as more and more people realize the advantages of becoming a Hafnarfjörður resident. The town has grown quickly over the past few years and the new neighborhoods have attracted a diverse community of people who are well aware that Hafnarfjörður offers a great range of commercial outlets and services, an active cultural life and plenty of activities. The town prides itself on a number of excellent kindergartens and primary schools, in addition to a music school, a vocational training college, and the well established secondary college, Flensborg. Hafnarfjörður is also a sports town, with a high level of participation in sports activities, partly due to the town subsidizing the membership fees of its children. Unspoiled nature is never far away in Hafnafjpörður, and opportunities for outdoor pursuits, in a beautiful environment, are limitless. It´s not only great to live in Hafnarfjörður; working in the town is good, too. Hafnarfjörður has a diverse econ.
