Nestled in the woods, this charming vacation cabin is less than 2 miles from the West Entrance to Glacier National Park.
A comfortable place to kick up your feet, you’ll enjoy the warmth of this cabin-style home with wide-plank pine wood floors, and walls constructed with 100-year-old logs. The home offers a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, washer and dryer, WiFi, and living room with comfortable seating and a vast collection of books on hiking, wildflowers, and historical/special points of interest in Glacier Park. You'll also enjoy the pleasant views of the park’s peaks from the screened-in front porch, the five acres of wooded grounds to explore, and frequent sightings of elk, deer and other wildlife.
There are two full bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master suite, located upstairs, has a queen bed, full bath, and a private deck in which to enjoy the beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The second bedroom on the main floor has a full size bed, and a queen-size futon couch is located in the living room.
Being a short distance to Glacier National Park makes this cabin an ideal home base for any Glacier vacation. All services are about a mile away, including whitewater raft companies, scenic helicopter tours, and guided fishing trips.
We had two couples stay at the cabin for a week of hiking in Glacier. Everything about this two story cabin was perfectly suited for our needs. Each floor has a bedroom and bathroom, so each couple had privacy. The kitchen was well equipped for the times we chose to have home-cooked meals. The living area and screened porch were very comfortable for relaxing and reading selections from the library of GNP/Montana books. The location was perfect for either hiking in GNP or heading the other direction toward Columbia Falls for groceries/supplies/cafes. The cabin sits on a private wooded property and we saw deer come by in the morning...yet we were still close by to all conveniences with West Glacier 5 minutes away. The process of reserving the cabin, making deposits/payments, etc. was all very smoothly handled by the property owner and they provided a lot of great information well in advance that helped us in planning our time there. We had absolutely no problems when we arrived, the cabin was clean and ready and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay from beginning to end. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to enjoy the great outdoors around GNP and we would love to stay there again on a return trip!
We had a great family trip to Glacier staying here. The cabin was a good size for our family (two adults, two teenagers) and was very well stocked. The grill and picnic area were really nice and we enjoyed being able to come back to the cabin and grill after a day in the park. The location was perfect- about a mile from the park entrance. We will certainly return here on future visits to Glacier.
My family and I had a fantastic time here. The location was very convenient to activities, restaurants and shops. The house was beautiful, cozy and very accommodating, with a lot of space, a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of linens, comfortable beds and an incredible library of books about Glacier Park. We spent most of our mornings and evenings hanging out in the beautiful, large screened-in front porch, which was a real treat.
The property manager and owner were very friendly, easy to work with and extremely helpful with helping us plan our trip. I would highly recommend this home for a stay in Glacier Park!
We would highly recommend this "wonderful cabin in the woods". It perfectly fit four adults(2 couples) and had all the amenities we could have wanted or needed for our week trip to Glacier. The cabin was very clean and the owner obviously has put a lot of time and energy into creating a fantastic getaway. The cabin was only minutes from the entrance of GNP but sitting on the enclosed front porch, we felt like we were completely secluded from the rest of the world. We saw deer, elk and a fox just having drinks on the porch(Ha, not at the same time). There is an extensive library covering plants, animals and trails through GNP. The owner even sent out ideas for our trip that we found to be very helpful.
If you are looking for a place to stay in West Glacier, this would be the place. We will absolutely be returning next year!
What a great place to stay if you are on the west side of GNP. Cabin was extremely clean, comfortable, convenient and easy to get to. Description of the cabin was perfect and would stay again if we return, and highly recommend to any visitor. Owner was extremely helpful in providing a list of suggestions of places to eat, hikes, places to visit nearby and wildlife. Wifi and phone service were undependable, probably due to the mountains. Sorry we had to leave!
