We are an active couple that loves everything Oregon! We hike to dozens of amazing waterfalls and parks, ski in the winter on Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachlor, take our boat out on the Willamette and Columbia rivers in the summer, visit interesting restaurants, wineries and breweries of Portland or the Willamette Valley and visit the beautiful Oregon coast, often!
Jeanine purchased this house in 2002
We love our location, nestled on a hillside on Bull Mountain that is located close to access downtown but far enough to feel like you are in the mountains. The forest behind us and mature trees in our yard offer privacy but still offers an expansive patio area to bask in the sun. During the winter you can sit in the hot tub and view the twinkling lights through the trees or watch the full moon rising. Our home is located in a newer but established neighborhood with wide streets and sidewalks. Perfect for a morning or evening walk. Or just down the street is Summerlake park where we take our evening walks. We have many fantastic parks for hiking. Forest Park is the largest in-city park Just a short drive we have easy access to the Nike world campus and the silicon forest, home of many well known high-tech companies.
Shuttles are available nearby to Mt. Hood ski areas in the winter and spring. We are literally, right down the street and around the corner from gourmet groceries and restaurants. New Seasons Market an fantastic grocery/deli is one of our favorite stops for a quick bite to eat. They even offer wine and beer tasting. An upscale shopping mall, is just a 10 minute drive, which includes Nordstroms and Macys. Just down the hill is Cinetopia, a plush, living room style theater with restaurant and wine bar. There's a new, amazing 'Big Al's sports center for family entertainment that includes a bowling alley. Several fitness centers, 24 hour fitness is a mile away, indoor aquatic center, 1 1/2 miles away. Tennis courts one mile, Bookstores, Starbucks and McMenamins brew pubs. Progress Ridge TownSquare is a two minute drive from our home. Everything you need is nearby. Summerlake is a great park in Tigard to take a morning or evening stroll.
This accommodation is so luxurious & comfortable that we would love to stay here again when back in Portland. Everything inside & outside is top notch: king bed, appliances, tv, indoor fireplace, outdoor hot tub & firepit. It's location is perfect for wine tasting and touring the surrounding sights. It has a feeling of being in the country, but minutes from great stores, restaurants & spa.
My husband and I stayed at Jeanine and Paul's Tropical Oasis for a week in Oct-Nov and we were so very pleased with our accommodations! We didn't want to leave! We had absolutely everything we needed and it felt so much like home! I loved getting up in the morning and preparing our breakfast and watching the little chipmunks and squirrels scampering around in the backyard oasis. The king-sized bed is so very comfortable, just like sleeping on a cloud. We really enjoyed the TV with the surround-sound. It was excellent for watching the World Series games while we were there. Everything was absolutely perfect and Jeanine and Paul are the best hostess/host and provide you with everything you need for your stay. I don't think we would ever stay anywhere else when we visit Portland. Can't wait to visit again! Thank you so much !
We stayed in this rental while in Portland visiting our daughter and her family. It was perfect. Paul & Jeanine have thought of everything you would ever need. Having our own washer & dryer was really nice. They even supplied the soap. I have stayed in many rentals, but this was the best. We will try to rent on our next visit in June. Thank you for having such a nice rental.
Serene oasis pretty much sums it up for this beautiful home in a suburb of Portland! In addition to an award-winning tropical garden with a hot tub and fire pit, lovely little forest critters and local birds to watch from the window every morning at the bird feeder outside, the inside of the home is essentially a spread from an upscale "home decor" magazine. With the large window views all around of greenery and northwest forest, this lovely home felt almost like our very own home in the Hawai'i rainforest! Extra bonuses were the quality linens in the bedroom and bath and the same high quality cooking utensils and appliances in the kitchen. We had a warm welcome from Paul and Jeanine upon our arrival, and just hope that they'll have us back again on our next visit...we won't want to stay anywhere else now!
We stayed in this rental for our honeymoon and it was perfect! This rental is beautiful, private, and relaxing. Jeanine and Paul are very nice people who will go out of their way to help you if you need anything. We will definitely return!
The apartment is spacious, comfortable, private and lovely. The jacuzzi is an extra bonus, the garden feels like a resort. The hosts were lovely and accommodated our late arrival.
The 100+ wineries dot the landscape throughout the Willamette Valley and start just down the road, 10 minutes away. You drive through lovely wine country to access the north Oregon Coast 1 ½ hour away. Timberline lodge and skiing on Mt. Hood, a 1½ hour drive. The Columbia River Gorge and many waterfalls, 45 min. Portland International Airport is very convenient, a 35-40 minute drive.
