About Jeanine

We are an active couple that loves everything Oregon! We hike to dozens of amazing waterfalls and parks, ski in the winter on Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachlor, take our boat out on the Willamette and Columbia rivers in the summer, visit interesting restaurants, wineries and breweries of Portland or the Willamette Valley and visit the beautiful Oregon coast, often!

Jeanine purchased this house in 2002

Why Jeanine chose Tigard

We love our location, nestled on a hillside on Bull Mountain that is located close to access downtown but far enough to feel like you are in the mountains. The forest behind us and mature trees in our yard offer privacy but still offers an expansive patio area to bask in the sun. During the winter you can sit in the hot tub and view the twinkling lights through the trees or watch the full moon rising. Our home is located in a newer but established neighborhood with wide streets and sidewalks. Perfect for a morning or evening walk. Or just down the street is Summerlake park where we take our evening walks. We have many fantastic parks for hiking. Forest Park is the largest in-city park Just a short drive we have easy access to the Nike world campus and the silicon forest, home of many well known high-tech companies.

What makes this house unique

Shuttles are available nearby to Mt. Hood ski areas in the winter and spring. We are literally, right down the street and around the corner from gourmet groceries and restaurants. New Seasons Market an fantastic grocery/deli is one of our favorite stops for a quick bite to eat. They even offer wine and beer tasting. An upscale shopping mall, is just a 10 minute drive, which includes Nordstroms and Macys. Just down the hill is Cinetopia, a plush, living room style theater with restaurant and wine bar. There's a new, amazing 'Big Al's sports center for family entertainment that includes a bowling alley. Several fitness centers, 24 hour fitness is a mile away, indoor aquatic center, 1 1/2 miles away. Tennis courts one mile, Bookstores, Starbucks and McMenamins brew pubs. Progress Ridge TownSquare is a two minute drive from our home. Everything you need is nearby. Summerlake is a great park in Tigard to take a morning or evening stroll.

Beautiful and Praceful!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful isn't enough to describe this great home. The backyard oasis is peaceful and welcoming after a day of adventures. The house is similar in decor and design like that of the Hotel Del Coronado and is in a beautiful location of Tigard. Paul & Jeanine are gracious hosts and have the house stocked with all the items one would need along with binders of valuable information abut the areas such as great attractions and best places to eat, wine tasting, sight seeing. If I am so lucky to visit Portland ever again. This would be my home away again for sure!! Thanks again Jea nine and Paul!

The Calm After the Adventure

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I love to seek out adventure during our travels. However, we love to relax and have a peaceful setting when the day is done. This place gave us just that. It was a pleasure to come back and have a glass of wine by the fire pit and reminisce about the latest experience. We also had a plenty of privacy and felt very secluded yet close to the excitement in Portland. Jeanine and Paul were great. We use VRBO for most of our lodging and I have to say their communication was the best. I never had to wait long for a response and they both seemed eager to make our stay very comfortable. I would come back here in a heart beat and highly recommend it. Thanks for making our stay wonderful.

Welcoming---A home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Jeanine and Paul. They are there to help as much or as little as you would like to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The unit was in a good neighborhood, private and very clean. You can tell that they have put a lot of time and thought into the environment. All the appliances are quality and in working order. We felt at home the moment we walked in. They have thoughtfully compiled lists of things to do, places to go and restaurants that they have enjoyed. The back yard landscaping was all in bloom during out visit and I now have backyard envy. The hot tub and fire pit were a welcome respite after a long day of sightseeing in the Gorge and on Mt. Hood. The accommodations are far better than you could get at a hotel and less expensive. You definitely get more bang for your buck. Public transportation into Portland is nearby, inexpensive and easy to navigate. We would definitely recommend it to others and would not hesitate to stay there again if we return to the Portland area.

Exceptional retreat and amazing hosts

  • 5 of 5

Jeanine and Paul created an amazing retreat that is private, quiet, beautiful and restful. The property is exceptionally clean ( I did not have to take any allergy medication during my stay (I usually take meds and use inhalers 3-4 times per day). The property is beautifully decorated with every amenity imaginable. My husband and I really appreciated the "Book of Oregon" (our term for the notebook provided by the hosts with everything northwest) that provides detailed instructions of restaurants, wineries, hiking trails, rivers and mountains in and around the Portland area. We spent entire days sight-seeing and appreciating nature and upon returning, enjoying a beverage and appreciating the beauty and quiet of the beautiful garden. The accommodations and location were perfect; the hosts outstanding. Thanks Jeanine and Paul for seven amazing days!

Tropical charm in the ideal location

  • 5 of 5

We are from Chicago and my husband and I just completed our 5 night stay; it was fantastic. The space is modern, clean, and tech savvy. The tropical garden is not only beautiful but very private. We used the hot tub a couple of times after a long day of exploring the Willamette Valley and Portland. Jeanine and Paul are very respectful of their guests space and privacy. The location is PERFECT to go to hundreds of vineyards in the valley or to explore the city. This is a quiet space in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood which we are sure to return in the future. We recommended thoroughly!
