Lot-et-Garonne Castle Rental Photos and Description

At the edge of the Landes forest, in the valley Gelise

A Gascon castle

Enjoy the Gascogne, for a week (or two) at this authentic castle dating from the twelfth century with private pool. Elegant living room and bedrooms for up to 8 people in a natural environment where you can enjoy golf, hiking and enjoy the quality of life of South West

Around the castle, a 1.25 hectare park around a cedar-lined driveway, you will feel immediately at ease in this particular historical context. Here, you will likely be greeted by 'animals': a squirrel and woodpecker who will be delighted to meet you during your stay. Outside, you will find the pool where you can relax. You can choose from two terraces, each at a suitable temperature.

The present castle is a part of what was once a large castle. From the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, the castle was owned by the family Bezolles. In the sixteenth century, the family belonged to the court of Navarre. The castle is located in a small hamlet in the middle of which flows the Gélise, a small tributary of the River Baise.

The oldest section is a square tower. The lounge date of rebirth while the staircase tower dates from the sixteenth century. The castle has many original features such as fireplaces, antique tiles and deadly. The interior consists of unusual antiques, especially from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The combination of history, atmosphere, comfort facilities and private pool make Castle Cauderoue a unique place in all seasons.

Golf enthusiasts sapprécieront the Golf of Albret in Barbaste to 18 holes. You can go cycling and hiking in the woods on the other side of the river. Families also sapprécieront fish ponds, equestrian and the Walibi amusement park or the prehistoric park in the region. Fancy a trip nearby? The Atlantic coast and the Pyrenees are an hour and a half by car.

In the neighborhood (max 30 minutes by car): swimming, golf, hiking, biking, cycling, horse riding, water sports, (float) in flight.

The region of Gascony is famous for its cuisine, allowing cheaply to discover the many restaurants nearby.

It looks like a castle because it is a castle

  • 5 of 5

This is a unique property, in fabulous condition, with everything you could need for a wonderful family holiday.

The layout of the property was a huge open plan lounge/dining room on the ground floor, plus a kitchen, on the first floor there is a massive room with an en-suite bathroom and a further bedroom, and on the second floor a further massive room with three beds and an additional bedroom with the benefit of a place to fire arrows at unwanted visitors.

The swimming pool was enormous, and well maintained. We were joined at one point by a frog in the pool which was fun for the kids.

The gardens were like fields in size, with well maintained plants in the borders.

Rosalie lives in the village, so was on hand to help, and was very helpful.

Up the road (literally) is CAP Cauderoue, an excellent outdoor adventure centre, with canoeing, cycling and pony trekking, and we took full advantage.

Séjour très agréable

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5
