The interior of “Surfs Up” is just as beautiful as the outdoor surroundings. Professionally decorated, you will find everything perfectly coordinated throughout “Surfs Up”. Being situated on the top level, in the corner, “Surfs Up” offers extra windows making it bright and sunny throughout the home. The master bedroom features a comfortable king bed with oceanfront views. The master bath is highlighted by the garden tub. Two of the guest bedrooms feature a queen bed and two sets of bunk beds highlight the fourth bedroom. A Jack and Jill bathroom is shared by one of the queen bedrooms and the bunk bedroom. The living space in “Surfs Up” is gorgeous with an extra large sofa, flat screen television and wonderful art work. The dining room and kitchen bar can accommodate ten comfortably for dinner.

A true South Carolinian, Marcia is from Greenville SC and has been in the Charleston area for over 25 years! She began hospitality right out of college as the Front Desk night manager at the Waccamaw House in Litchfield, SC. She and her late husband, John, ran Sewee Coastal Methodist Retreat Center in Awendaw, on the Intercoastal waterway while raising their four children. Marcia joined the Beachside Team 2012.
1. Enjoys the peace and moss draped serenity of the walking trails in Palmetto Islands County Park. Palmetto Islands County Park is located in Mt. Pleasant and also offers the areas only water park in addition to miles of walking trails. 843-406-6950.
2. Walking the beach from Breaches’ Inlet to the opposite end of Sullivan’s Island at Charleston Harbor.
3. Sunset cruise on the Palmetto Breeze. The Palmetto Breeze is the ultimate sailing catamaran docked in Shem Creek. They offer dolphin sails, tours of the historic Charleston Harbor and sunset sails. 843-886-8133.
4. Kayaking the salt marshes and back creeks of the Intercoastal waterway . Coastal Expeditions offers tours from Isle of Palms Marina and Shem Creek 843-886-9590.
5. Favorite is BBQ shrimp at Acme Lowcountry Grill! Located on the Isle of Palms, Acme Lowcountry Grill is one of Beachside’s favorite recommendations. 843-886-3474.
Just finished a two week stay at this property. Could not have been more happy with the unit or the location.
Property is very nice and well appointed. Beds are comfortable, TVs all work, kitchen appliances are newer, artwork on walls is nice, couches are great. We stayed her two weeks and felt like we were at home.
Unit was exceptionally clean upon our arrival. Further, when we checked out at 10AM following our two week stay, the cleaning crew was waiting outside. Very thorough.
Also, this unit is on the far left end of the complex. The advantage of this is that you hear ZERO live music from the restaurant to the right of the condo complex. When you park under the complex, you can hear the music quite loudly and we were initially concerned, until we entered the condo and all we could hear was the surf...no music.
Also, this location has a GREAT pool. Very nice, clean and we saw the maintenance company come daily to service the pool. Also, the entire grounds are well maintained and the beach is a simple walk out the front door.
Lastly, I have rented from Chad at Beachside vacations for over the last 12 years. When I rent a unit every year from him, I truly feel like I'm renting from a friend. He always matches me up to a property that suits my growing family's needs. And, if there are every any issues, they are taken care of within hours.
The unit was quite run down. Stains on the carpet throughout, chipped and cracking paint and overall it felt dingy. In addition: one of the toilets ran constantly and a sink faucet could not be completely turned off. We had three families with us and were told after booking that parking would only be provided for two cars--despite notification that we could park one car per bedroom in the unit. This resulted in an additional $50 for a parking spot across town. We waited until nearly 6pm to check in because we were told the unit was being thoroughly cleaned and checked only to find shoes, plastic bags, retainers and other trash under our beds. The refrigerator has an odor as did many of the rooms. In 5 years of staying in various beautiful places in IOP this place was truly disappointing. We will not rent again and will definitely not recommend it.
We were more than pleased with how well appointed our condo was. Everything we needed to have a relaxing family getaway. The location is perfect, oceanfront, close to restaurants and Harris Teeter. I would definitely recommend to families with children. Property was exactly as it appeared in pictures and well maintained.
Very nice property with great views and spacious accommodations. The management was always available if there was anything we needed. Well stocked with all the necessities. Very clean and well kept. We would definitely come here again.
We love IOP and have rented several condos on Ocean Blvd over the years. We like 1140 Ocean Blvd the best and unit 308 has been the nicest we have stayed in. There was a little difficulty obtaining the pool code and wi-fi password. That information could be sent via text, as the check-in notification via text was very convenient! Also we had two servicemen arrive at the condo to change an air filter while our teenage daughter was alone in the condo. We were not advised in advance of this visit. The servicemen had no identification and were not wearing any sort of uniform. This is highly unacceptable and we would caution you from having those sort of unannounced visits in the future especially with people who can not prove who they are and why there are there. Other than that, our stay was wonderful and love the new pool company you are using. The pool was much cleaner this year than last. Service at all the restaurants was wonderful as usual. We will be back.
Located in the Heart of the Isle of Palms, this condo is located within a few steps of several great restaurants, oceanfront bar, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Pizza Place, and several stores to shop. Also, being the closest beach to downtown Charleston, you have plenty of activities with a few minutes drive such as Harbourtown, USS Yorktown, 7 golf courses, Charleston Market, Charleston Battery, Fort Moultrie, Fort Sumter, Boone Hall Plantation, Blackbeard's Cove(for kids), and all the inshore or offshore fishing you can do. I don't have enough room to discuss restaurants, as the Charleston area is home to several of the best restaurants in the country. Ask for specific details and tastes.
