Why Kingfisher Cove Cabins chose Saugatuck
Every amenity you can think of in an upscale, clean setting!
I thought the place was great. Not too small for 8 people. The pool was right across street and we were there multiple times a day. Dune rides a two minute drive and Oval beach 15 minute drive. There was an ice cream shop down street we walked to weekly. Great area!
Great for a large family! Private hot tub and right across from pool were extra perks!
We’ve been to Saugatuck several times and this cabin was by far the best rental we’ve had for our family of 7. Everyone had a bed and there were 2 living areas. Everything we could have needed was in the cabin and it was very clean. This cabin was right across the driveway from the pool! The screened in porch was great for morning coffee and evening relaxing after sightseeing all day. We even had our own private hot tub! The cabins are just a couple minutes drive to the ice cream shop, dune rides, Oval Beach, and downtown Saugatuck. Definitely something for everyone! Our kids kept saying we were “living our best lives” this week!
Saugatuck vacation home
Very nice property in a good location.
Family fun was the best
Everything was better than expected we will return.
I'm so glad you had a great time Moses! Let us know the next time you are in town, we'd be happy to have you stay with us at Lakeshore Lodging again!
Family Friendly Stay
We had another great stay at Kingfisher Cove. The rental company was friendly and easy to work with. The house was clean, well appointed, and very close to the pool. We love this area because the homes are nice, having a pool is perfect for family vacations, it's close to Oval Beach, and it's a quick drive or fun bike ride to town. Saugatuck has so much to offer!
Take pictures upon arrival to keep your deposit
The property manager was very unhelpful.
The vacation rental was very clean.
I was more than happy with the location.
I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.
If you stay here, I recommend you take pictures of every room when you arrive and consult with one of their “quality inspectors” at arrival and before checkout to avoid losing your deposit. While the cabin is lovely the company retained our security deposit under ambiguous terms. We have stayed on Goshorn and at other cottages in the area, but this was our first winter trip. The space is ideal for two families – we were two moms with our children, and the kids loved the bunk beds, rooms were spacious, & plenty of towels and linens. When we had trouble re-lighting the fireplace pilot, Lakeshore sent someone promptly to assist, which we appreciated on a cold day. After departing, Lakeshore notified me that our deposit will not be refunded because we had “moved furniture” in the cabin and departed after the checkout time. In two rounds of emails with Lakeshore, not once did they provide specificity about what furniture they were referencing. I acknowledged that our five year old moved a small ottoman, but to charge us seemed unreasonable. I then reviewed the online photos, and replied that the placement of the large sofa was switched with the chairs on the first floor vs the photo, but that this is how it was arranged upon our arrival. We could not have moved a large sofa, even if we wanted to. Lakeshore Lodging disregarded my assurance stating, “Our Quality Control Inspector verified that the furniture in the living room was moved.” I was also told the housekeeper had to wait in her car outside the propriety and that she “verified” a late departure. We are tidy and responsible people, and took pride in leaving the cabin clean and following the check-out checklist. We called the office at 10 to say we were leaving, and then stayed outside while taking our garbage to the dumpster, reorganizing luggage in our vehicles, and letting kids play before a long ride home. We did not see anyone nearby waiting to enter the home, nor would we have prevented them from doin
As hospitality professionals there is no upside to charging our guest's deposits so we do our best to provide simple rental guidelines that promote respect for the property and your hosts- us. If you move furniture we ask that you put it back to its original configuration. It requires extra staff to put things back, which we need to recoup. If you would like extra time at the house— we totally understand, who doesn’t drag their feet coming off of a vacation?—you are always welcome to let us know the night before by adding on a late check out. If you are out on time but not gone we can work around that but we need to know that is what you're doing. In this case we did not charge the full deposit but a portion because the living room was rearranged and pushed back to make a large area in front of the fireplace and TV. Our team is in the home before and after each arrival and the configuration of the living room prior to arrival and immediately after the guest's departure did not match. The last time the guest accessed the house was 41 minutes after their scheduled check out and they did not make a check out call. The reservation was made for a total of 8 guests (4 adults and 4 kids). This review suggests that there were only two adults but our field staff interacted with three adults when they were dispatched to help with the fireplace.
