Abe Massry purchased this house in 2012
This location is 100% perfect location in the most beautiful neighborhood in all of Florida. Hollywood beach is by far the best beach Florida has to offer with a 4 mile boardwalk that makes for great scenery while we are jogging or just riding a bike. Great restaurants and night clubs. Hollywood is up and coming and has anything and everything south beach has to offer without all the congestion.
Fully automated Heated pool Spa and Badu Swim jets with LED lighting system. Walking distance to the beach and just one block away from the south lake of Hollywood. Just one block away to the other direction is a city park one square block with 4 Tennis courts 2 full court Basketball playground for the kids and a Baseball/Soccer or Football field.
The house surpassed our expectations! We came down from Massachusetts for a week break and the house was everything we wanted and more. The owner, Abe, was there with any concerns. The heated pool was stunning and a huge group favorite. The house had more than enough space for our group of 9, it was very clean, well-maintained and located in a prime location, 5 minute drive to Hollywood Beach, short walk to Hollywood Boulevard if you are looking for restaurants and night life, and a short drive to Miami Beach. We are looking forward to returning next year and highly recommend the house.
We recently planned a girl's trip and wanted to stay in a private home with a gorgeous pool and jacuzzi. Lets just say the amenities exceeded our expectations! We traveled with a group of 8 girls and ended up having the fourth room as an extra room since the house slept 12 people. The house was fully stocked with towels and had a washer and dryer for us to use throughout the week. The newly installed pool and jacuzzi were absolutely gorgeous and fully functional. The house also came with an alarm system to ensure our belongings were secure when we left the city for the night to travel to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. Both of which were only 20 minutes away! This house was so convienent and perfect for our stay and we were so sad to leave. Definitely recommend it to a group of people looking for a perfect get-away.
Swimming pool is perfect ( clean, no mold, you can change temperature ).
House is ok . Everything is working ( washer, dryer, dish washer...)
But we suggest refresh the house ( ...change sink in the kitchen , change filter in air condition...) and better clean.
Generally we are satisfied
We rented this property in the South Lake area in Hollywood, FL for two months starting in early January. The neighborhood is quite lovely: wide, walkable streets, complemented by great canopy. The lake is just a couple blocks away. Although you cannot walk the rim of the lake, except for a short piece, it is a nice place to take in the view of Hollywood beach. The beach is 1.5 miles from the home, an easy walk for the ambitious and those not lugging beach gear or small children. If you are a runner or just like to take in a nice walk, this is the place to be.
The interior of the home is a bit dated and in need of minor maintenance. It has a nice open concept, with a large kitchen (gas stove) that contained adequate cookware. The three bedrooms are nice size and each has its own tv. We really enjoyed sitting at the kitchen's bar counter having cocktails while dinner was being prepared, discussing our day and contemplating which golf course to play next.
Now, what really makes this house special: The home sits on a corner lot, giving it a nice oversized yard for the area. The backyard is completely fenced. Within the fence lines is an oasis of sorts: a beautiful patio of travertine pavers and an absolutely stunning pool, with all the bells and whistles. There is a beach shelf with a bubbler, hot tub and swim jet. There is also a permanent basketball hoop and portable propane grill, which were nice added touches. Additionally, there is tons of seating available, including a large outdoor table for dining. I would say we spent two-thirds of our time outside, enjoying the peace, beauty and the yard's amenities. Now, I must confess we, as have others, had some issues with the pool but we can also report Abe addressed them quickly. In fact, Abe was very attentive to our needs and worked hard to see that our stay was enjoyable.
We had a lovely time and would not hesitate to go back.
This is an older home in a GREAT location; owners have started renovations and you can tell they also use this home themselves.
The property was VERY CLEAN when we arrived; the pool is exactly as advertised and very relaxing. The outdoor furniture is older but functional. One room is also with the laundry and a utility sink but this wasn't an issue for us. Because it's an older home the rooms are large so my family had plenty of room. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. Also, the owner is very responsive...
To call this place a "resort home" is a joke.
First off, this place was gross! There was trash all over the front, back and side yards. It seemed like there had been weeks of crazy parties there and it was never cleaned up. I had to walk around picking up broken glass and cigaret butts up from the pool area so my toddler didn't get hurt.
The inside was no better. The only bathtub had a very slow drain so taking a shower in it meant standing in a tub full of water. It didn't drain properly so it was dirty, the whole time we were there I couldn't give the baby a bath.
The first night we awoke to roaches crawling on us in the room with a crib. I followed the roaches behind the bed to find the floor under the bed had serious water damage and a hole which was a perfect place for vermin to nest, explaining the roaches. We moved out of that room and didn't use it anymore. It became known as the "roach motel."
In the kitchen, we opened the drawer for utensils to find it was full of mouse droppings. Very appetizing. We had to sterilize all the utensils and clean the drawer ourselves.
The last day we were there the pool filter system stopped working and the pool turned a gross green color. The pool man said that the pool constantly breaks down so don't expect it to be working when you stay if you make the mistake of booking this place.
There was too much wrong with the place to chronicle here so I'll just start listing things:
The BBQ was broken and dilapidated. No way anyone could cook on it.
The umbrella stand was broken so there was no shade outside.
Most of the outdoor furniture was falling apart.
The AC didn't work in all of the rooms.
The pipes backed up when we ran the dishwasher and it flooded the washer & sink with gross water.
It was advertised as wheelchair accessable however there was not a single entrance that did not have multiple steps. My grandfather who can barely walk without assistance had to struggle up and down those stairs every day so he could be close to his grandson. It broke my heart and I was terrified that he would fall and seriously injure himself. I spoke with Abe about this and he maintained that it was a single story house and therefore "wheelchair accessable" which is an outright lie.
Abe offered a $250 credit, we never got it. Eventually he offered 75% off, but now he won't return my calls.
Only one Block from the Lake.
