We (Melody and Todd) live in Chicago and have enjoyed a couple years at this lakefront location already hosting large groups of family/friends year round. We have four kids. We decided to open it as a rental property in 2017 as we don't fully utilize the beautiful space throughout the year, but we maintain it and treat it as our home. We welcome you to come stay at our lakefront home and start a tradition of relaxing, reconnecting, and recreating!

We have hosted large groups and it makes a GREAT family reunion location with countless activities and private lakefront footage with a private pier and swim area. Don't underestimate the value of spreading out across 2 dwellings. Our kids have enjoyed plenty of time in the guest house with their friends, which is only 100' from the main house. We have invested in new heating, cooling, landscaping, roofs, and outdoor furniture to enhance your stay.

SELECT TERMS OF SHORT TERM RENTAL AGREEMENT (EXTRACTED FROM ATTACHED RENTAL AGREEMENT FORM AVAILABLE ON THIS SITE) 1. MAINTENANCE OF PROPERTY - The Tenants shall maintain the premises in a good, clean, and near ready to rent condition, and use the premises only in a careful and lawful manner. The tenants shall leave the premises in a ready to rent condition at the expiration of the rental agreement, defined as being immediately habitable by the next tenant. Tenants will pay for maintenance and repairs should the premises be left in a lesser condition. The tenants agree that the Landlord shall deduct costs of said services from the security deposit prior to refund if tenants cause damage to the premises or its furnishings or for missing items. In the event of damage the tenant agrees that the landlord may use the credit card provided by the tenant for payment of such damages or missing items. 2. WASTE DISPOSAL - The Tenants shall dispose of all waste material generated during the rental period in a lawful manner and put their trash in the large outdoor garbage bins located near the house. Tenant is cautioned not to leave trash open and/or outside for long periods of time because it attracts animals. 3. DAMAGES - The Tenants shall pay for any damage done to the premises over and above normal wear and tear. 6. NO PETS ALLOWED - No animals or pets of any kind will be brought onto the premises. IF IT IS DETERMINED THAT THE TENANT HAS ALLOWED A PET OR ANIMAL ONTO THE PREMISES DURING THEIR RENTAL THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL $500 FEE ASSESSED. 4. BEHAVIOR - The Tenants shall behave in a civilized manner and shall be good neighbors respecting the rights of the surrounding property owners. The Tenants shall not create noise or disturbances likely to disturb or annoy the surrounding property owners. Creating a disturbance of the above nature shall be grounds for immediate termination of this agreement and Tenants shall then immediately vacate the premises. Outdoor noise should be kept to a minimum. 5. NO SMOKING ALLOWED - There shall be no smoking inside the premises, including the main house and the guest house. Smoking is permitted 15 feet away from the house, assuming smoking refuse is properly disposed of. IF IT IS DETERMINED THAT THE TENANT HAS SMOKED INSIDE THE PREMISES DURING THEIR RENTAL THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL $500 FEE ASSESSED. 6. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS - It is the tenant’s responsibility to learn about safety precautions, warning signs of water conditions, and safety procedures concerning swimming in or being around the lake. Tenant agrees to have a responsible adult supervising minors while they swim in the lake. Tenant is hereby notified that the lake can be dangerous and the tenant accepts fully the risks involved. Tenant is further notified to be cautious when using rental watercraft or when participating in activities in or near the water. 7. LEGAL USAGE - Tenant shall use the property for legal purposes only and other use, such as but not limited to, illegal drug use, abuse of any person, harboring fugitives, etc. ; shall cause termination of this agreement with no refund of rents or deposits. 8. DAMAGE DEPOSIT - A fully refundable damage reservation deposit of $500 shall be required at the time of the initial rental. This deposit must be received with the initial 50% rent payment. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied towards rent, however it is fully refundable within 14 days of departure, provided the following provisions are met: a. No damage is done to the home or its contents beyond normal wear and tear. b. No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay. c. All debris and rubbish are removed from the premises and placed in the large garbage bins provided. d. All soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned. e. All keys are left in the lock box. Patio furniture is put neatly back in original place. The doors and windows of the house are locked. f. All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure. g. No linens or furnishings are lost or damaged. h. The renter is not evicted by the owner or his representative. i. The local law enforcement authorities are not called to the property for any type of illegal activity by tenant. j. Violation of the non-smoking policy (#10) and pet policy (#6) will result in an automatic fee of $500 to be assessed. As an alternative to leaving a cash deposit, Tenant has the option of providing their credit card information and authorizes the Landlord to charge any damages to their credit card. 9. PERSONAL PROPERTY -Valuable items left behind by tenant will be held for the tenant and every reasonable effort will be made to contact the tenant for return. If items are not claimed for longer than 1 month they shall become the property of the Landlord. The Landlord shall not be held liable for safeguarding or condition of said items. 10. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest that you bring your own beach towels. Do not permit towels or linens from the home to be taken outside the property or used for the lake. 11. CONTENTS OF PROPERTY - Our property is equipped with pots, furniture, appliances, dishes, silverware, brooms, linens, bedspreads, and pillows. Sufficient blankets may not be in the unit so you may want to bring your own. You must furnish your own paper products and cleaning supplies. You should also bring any items that you feel are indispensable for an enjoyable vacation. Our property has TV’s, stereo equipment, cable TV access, and internet services. We are not responsible for the malfunction of utilities or equipment. You cannot rearrange furniture or take furniture to the pier/lake. You may not relocate, disconnect or modify the electronic equipment through the use of personal gaming devices or computers. 12. OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL OR WATERCRAFT ACTIVITIES – The Tenant hereby release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the landlord, its employees and any other entity to or for which the landlord is liable or otherwise in contract, from any and all liability that may arise as a result of any and all recreational or watercraft activity. These activities include, but are not limited to, transportation to and from points of access and use of grounds, parking areas, and/or other facilities or recreational equipment supplied by the landlord. This save harmless clause is not intended to indemnify against any cost or damage, or portion thereof, caused by the landlord or its employees. 13. WATERCRAFT USE – The Tenant is entitled to rent or provide their own watercraft for use near the pier and rental home. The Tenant is not entitled to use watercraft belonging to the Landlord that may be stored on or near the premises. The following must always be completed: 1. Wash and put away all dishes. 2. Remove all food and trash from home. 3. Place trash in the large garbage bins provided outside the home and roll carts to the edge of the front driveway. 4. Discard any food in refrigerator. 5. Remove linens and towels and place in laundry room. 6. Clean personal items from bathrooms. 7. Clean outside grill if used. 8. Empty grease traps under the electric griddles as necessary. All Tenants must leave the house undamaged and tidy. FAILURE TO COMPLETE THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL RESULT IN REDUCTION OF YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUND AND/OR ADDITIONAL BILLING.

2nd Year Renting this Beautiful Home - Again Melody & Todd were so nice to work with
By far the best place our Family has stayed at over the 10+ years we have been utilizing VRBO. Look at my review from last year, but I would say all the superb comments I made last year were repeated and even better this year, if that is possible. We enjoyed the beautiful shallow beach for our Grandchildren as well as the fire-pit for the Adults after the kids went to bed. It rained the one morning and we had plenty of room in the Living Room for the Grand-kids and Adults to spread around and play games. Melody & Todd have thought of everything with plenty of games to play for all ages. The Boat Rental place 2 doors down (Twin Lakes Boat Rental) is great to work with (especially Luke & Allie,) and our Family enjoyed renting their Pontoon Boat this year as well as last year. The restaurant 2 doors down (Sand Bar & Island Grill) was very friendly and accommodating for all of our Grand-kids and the food was excellent, especially their Lobster Roll. We just came back from Maine & the Lobster Roll was better at Sand Bar & Island Grill than in Maine. The owner of the Sand Bar was on premises & made sure everything was perfect for all their quests. Melody & Todd once again provided us with a wonderful gift box with all kinds of sauces for our barbecue as well as wine. The chairs set up by the Lake were so comfortable and great to see the Sunset. The second house on the property allowed our entire Family to fit so comfortably. The big Weber Grill was perfect for our large Family. Love this Place & working with Melody & Todd!
FAMILY FUN 2019
0ur family, at times totaling 15 people throughly enjoyed our third consecutive stay at Melody and Todd's place. The grounds are well groomed, the house well stocked and clean. Fishing, boating, tennis and loads of games kept all busy. The Sandbar restaurant two doors away, was a popular hang out for good food and exotic drinks. Shopping, sightseeing and "escape rooms" in Lake Geneva are only minutes away. The Steffan's are accessible, prompt to respond and contribute 10% of their profits to their one of their favorite charities. A great place to make family memories.

This was my family’s third consecutive summer renting this property and it continues to be the perfect family Lakehouse getaway!
Best place I have rented yet!
I cannot possibly recommend this enough! Melody and Todd were spectacular hosts. The property is immaculate, and everything is in great working order (which is not always the case for vacation rentals). From the incredible well-stocked kitchen to the amazing yard for campfires and enjoying the sunset, this was the perfect place for a friends get together. The proximity to the Marina and the "sand bar" restaurant was appreciated, and the basketball hoop was a hit with everyone.
During the trip the guys in my group were already asking me if we could book this place next year!
Best experience I have ever had renting a vaction home . . . I wish all owners could be HALF as gracious and helpful as Melody and Todd are!!
