Overview

Carmel Estate Rental Photos and Description

Estate, 4 Bedrooms + 1 Convertible bed, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8 comfortably)

THE LOCATION: One of the most spectacular meetings of land and sea you will ever experience. Pelican Cove is on the Pacific Ocean’s edge, majestically perched for you to take advantage of the ever-changing weather and rich sea life. It is home to one of the most diverse marine ecosystems in the world, including 33 species of marine mammals, 94 species of seabirds and 345 species of fish. Crashing waves as high as 20 feet, traveling from Alaska and Hawaii, provide a daily command performance. Relax by the fireplace in the great room as you watch migrating gray, humpback and blue whales.

Walk down a few stone steps to your very own private rock beach and cove. Sea otters greet you, often with baby otters in tow. The cove is a sanctuary for underwater kelp forest providing habitat and food for hundreds of fish. Keep an eye on sea otters as they wrap themselves in kelp to stay anchored in and around the cove. Enjoy our airborne visitors and residents including seagulls, blue herons, egrets, cormorants, albatross and, of course, pelicans. Feedings times are everyday, all day.

You will never tire of the non-stop action: the tide changes, blowhole blasts from pods of migrating whales, crashing waves, and much more. The rich life of Pelican Cove and the breathtaking sunsets will create memories for a lifetime.

THE HOME: Situated just steps to the Pacific Ocean and a private cove, you will find a single-level, California contemporary home with lots of privacy. High vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling glass provide a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor living, taking in unobstructed ocean front views at every turn. With 5 bedrooms, 3 baths and 2,800 square feet of living space, this comfortably elegant home is unmatched in quality and design. The fireplace as well as the hardwood floors will warm your soul. Amazing Experience!

  • 5 of 5

All I can say is WOW! From the moment you pull into the driveway, walk through the front door, and then step foot onto your private bluff overlooking the waves crashing on the rocks in front of you, you've said WOW about 10 times. My husband and I surprised my parents and my sister and brother-in-law with a trip up to Carmel early this year (2/12-2/15), and Pelican Cove made a special place even more so for all of us. My family grew up in NorCal, but we now all live in SoCal, so we miss how easy it used to be to pop on over to Carmel for the day or weekend and soak in it's beauty. I have many fond memories with my family there, and it's a special place for my parents as they honeymooned there. Well, thanks to our wonderful stay at the beautiful Pelican Cove, we have yet another VERY special memory that my entire family can share in. The home is STUNNING and was so very accommodating for the 6 of us. There's more than enough room for everyone, and you're mesmerized by the water crashing on the rocks with every room you enter. We spent one of the nights in and cooked, and had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. Especially when we all cozied up to the gorgeous fireplace with a night cap. I can only hope we get the opportunity to stay again as I'd love to bring my family back with my in-laws as well. Thank you for sharing such a special place.

Wonderful and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

I have rented around two dozen homes over the past decade or so. Many of them exquisite as well as being located on the California coast. None have been better than Pelican Cove. The view is amazing. The home is peaceful and comfortable. Four fantastic and different beaches are all within a 10 mile drive. I rarely want to revisit a home that I have rented, simply because I've seen it. But I will return to Yankee Point, assuming Nora still has the home available.

We were group of five: two adults and three middle-school aged children. Everyone had their own bedroom. Four bedrooms have views, and in addition to the master bath, there are two bathrooms with showers. There is also a washer and dryer. The kitchen is the best appointed kitchen I have ever rented. Two people can work comfortably in the kitchen while watching the waves. We had fires in the living room fire place with the sliding doors open to allow some cool evening breezes.

The four beaches are different and peaceful in their own way. The nearest is a short five minute walk from the home. Its "public" but only in the sense that there is only a couple of people ever there. The other beaches include the popular beach in Carmel - which the kids thought was best because it was the easiest for swimming. We also went to the rocky beach at Molera State Park. But, my favorite is Garappata State Beach. A mile of beach with great wave action (not really suitable for young kids to swim) and great beach sand and views. There was never any more than two dozen people at this long and country beach - only a couple of houses high on the mountains/hills behind the beach. You must go to Garappata!

Importantly, the home is on "city" water, meaning that its treated and pure. Many of the homes along the California coast rely on rainwater or delivered water. Some of these rentals even say that you should not drink the tap water. If you rent one of those, then be quite careful about the water from the tanks and reinforce to the kids not to drink it. But no worries at Nora's home. Everything is quite fine and safe for the kids.

I truly can't imagine a better place!

LIKE A DREAM

  • 5 of 5

Our trip was like a dream .....something out of a movie. We spent three fabulous nights in this amazing beachfront home to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. My husband and I and our five children enjoyed quality time amongst the beauty of the California coast. The sound of the ocean and views from the home are more than breathtaking. Nora was there to welcome us for the celebration with fresh flowers and amenities throughout the home made to feel like you were at a spa resort. The home is clean and has every luxury you could possibly imagine to make your stay comfortable and enjoying. We did not have the most favorable weather but what better place to be than in front of a crackling fireplace with the sound of the ocean right at your fingertips. It was a dream trip and one that we will always remember. Thank you Nora for allowing us the opportunity to share your home and it's beauty.

A wonderful place for family and friends

  • 5 of 5

If you want to spend time with your friends and /or family this is the place! The view is awesome and the design of the home lends itself to enjoying an amazing shared experience.

You can be all together to cook and enjoy the view. We loved our experience and will return again. The owner of the property was very helpful and offered to assist with any questions we might have to make our stay memorable. This is one fabulous spot.

Absolutely stunning!

  • 5 of 5

An amazing location and such a comfortable home. We felt very welcome and had a wonderful stay. The views are exactly as shown. Incredible rocky, white water views.... The colors change constantly and he wildlife is abundant. The home has just about anything you could need and all but one bedroom has their own ocean front view. The deck is just perfect with a jacuzzi overlooking the ocean, BBQ and lots of comfy seating and a fire pit. The living room is so comfy and the views even on a rainy day will surprise and delight. We hope to return again soon :)
